A must read handbook to travel the world

After making a decision to travel the world for 2 years, I asked myself, why doesn't someone write a how-to guide on this (like the one every new parent asks for). This illuminated many of the potential pitfalls of long term travel, and put the practical advice on the logistics and financially planning a long journey. Very detailed orienated for those who want like those pesky details.
