Description: This book provides a step-by-step approach to the evaluation, care, and treatment of common musculoskeletal complaints and conditions.
Purpose: The purpose is to provide practitioners with the information and instruction needed to manage orthopedic problems. This is a most worthy objective, considering the fact that the weakest area of clinical instruction in medical school is that involving the musculoskeletal system. The author's intent is fulfilled.
Audience: This book is written for primary care providers and those still in training. The author is a credible authority on this subject. After numerous presentations, the American College of Physicians recommended that he compose a compendium of his talks, thus providing the impetus for this handbook.
Features: The book has a dual format. The main text is written to provide easy access to the basic data base. "Sidebars" are then provided to make the book more interesting and easier for readers to remember the relevant material. The illustrations are well done and extremely helpful in supplementing the text.
