Overview

From the bestselling author of The Four Agreements...

This beautiful collection of prayers, guided meditations, and powerful prose for “living in love and happiness” will inspire and transform your life.

Don Miguel Ruiz often begins his workshops with a prayer or guided meditation to inspire and invoke a receptive frame of mind, and to reinforce the concepts being introduced. Similarly, readers can use this book as a source of inspiration in times of need or as daily encouragement. The prayers address such topics as truth, forgiveness, love, gratitude, humanity, inner silence, and more.

“To pray is an act of power because it is an agreement between the human and the divine, and we invest our faith in that agreement. Through our faith, we gain the courage to take action, and through action, we move one step closer toward the manifestation of our desires.” — From the Introduction

Meet the Author

Don Miguel Ruiz is the international bestselling author of The Four Agreements (a New York Times bestseller for over seven years), The Mastery of Love, The Voice of Knowledge, Prayers, and The Fifth Agreement.

Born into a family of healers in rural Mexico, Ruiz was expected to carry forward his family’s centuries-old legacy of healing and teaching. Instead, distracted by modern life, he chose to attend medical school and become a surgeon. Late in the 1970s, a near-death experience changed his life. Ruiz decided to devote himself to mastering the wisdom of the ancient Toltec, and to this day, he continues to share this wisdom in lectures and journeys to sacred sites around the world.

The teachings of don Miguel Ruiz are best known for transforming complex human issues into simple common sense — a talent that has earned him millions of fans, international acclaim, and a vote of approval from Oprah Winfrey. Sales of his Toltec Wisdom Series have soared to nearly 8 million copies in the United States alone, and have been translated into more than 38 languages worldwide.

Janet Mills is the founder and publisher of Amber-Allen Publishing. She is the editor and coauthor of the Toltec Wisdom Series by don Miguel Ruiz, and the editor of Deepak Chopra’s international bestselling title The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success. Her life’s mission is to publish books of enduring beauty, integrity, and wisdom, and to inspire others to fulfill their most cherished dreams.

How does one rate true prayer?

With reverence, at the very least! I came to this book after the author's 4 Agreements and found the prayers and guided meditations here very effective as I learned meditation and began to deepen my spiritual practice. It doesn't matter which denomination or religion you claim to belong to, because these truthful, poetic insights and encouragements transcend labels and unnatural boundaries. It is as if Ruiz discovered a coven of saintly horses who taught him these golden words. Read and recite these prayers and meditations like that, like you're reading and reciting poetry, and you will feel it, yes. You will feel transformed as your skin tingles, as all of your senses awaken to the wonderful world we share! --Robert McDowell, The Poetry Mentor and author of the forthcoming Poetry In Spiritual Practice

    Prayers is a must have!

Don Miguel Ruiz's book are life-changing. Practical and based in common sense, these books guide you to change your life to one based in love. Prayers: A Communion with our Creator contain more of don Miguel's teachings, inspiration and guided meditations on truth, forgiveness, love, gratitude and more. I've been saying the Circle of Fire prayer every day and it has really shifted my awareness! Prayers is a must have!
