Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Ashleigh Vanada
Meet Sally the Circle, Seth the Square, and Tanner the Triangle as they introduce preschoolers to the foundational skills of literacy and learning. Meant to be read aloud, these twelve mini picture books are designed to help children focus on identifying basic shapes, sorting and classifying symbols, and anticipating patterns and sequences. The humorous plots and adventures of the shapely friends combine with the simple artwork, for an easy-to-understand experience. Each book also includes an enticing game or practical hint that assists youngsters in interacting more creatively with the skills. They will not even know they are learning! This boxed set—including a helpful parenting guide—is part of the "My First Bob Books" series. Reviewer: Ashleigh Vanada

    My 3-year Enjoys This Series

The physical format of small books inside a box are easy for my daughter to hold and carry around. It also gives her a sense of ownership, she's proud that these are hers. The stories are brief and the repetition instills the "lesson" in each, such as shapes. They are simple and easy to follow, she has the stories memorized in no time and feels as if she's reading. The only thing I was a littl disappointed by was that the content on each page was longer than I thought, definitely not meant for a beginning reader to attempt to read, but for a pre-reader to be read to. She's at the age where she is starting to read some words, so I thought these books would offer small words for a beginning reader ro read. However, these are providing a sense of confidence and we will definitely progress to other sets as she does.

I am rating this book based on my daughter's opinion. I bought these for my 9 month old grandson. She didn't go into too much detail however described the content as "weird" and said she did not care for them.
