    Inspiring read

This book was very inspiring for me. It mades me feel like I wasn't alone in what I'm going through. I wish it would have more on the mans point of view though. Other than that I would recommend this book to anyone who has experienced such a loss. It will give you much hope.

The best book on this topic that I have read.

After my miscarriages I read a lot of books to help me with the loss. This was by far my favorite. She is an investigative reporter and has done her work. I just hope she adds into the next addition the new information about PCO (polyscystic ovarian syndrome) and its effects on miscarriage.

    A lifesaver

So many thoughts went through my head in the days, weeks and months after my baby died. Did I do something to cause it? Would I ever be able to have a healthy baby? How could I possibly make it through another pregnancy? The author of this book addressed all of those questions and more. It was a lifesaver for me. It helped me to understand that my feelings were 'normal,' and I also was able to see that other women had crossed the same road and made it to the other side. Thank you for helping me through the darkest period of my life!

    Full of Hope

I thought this book was full of hope. Like the author, I lost a son late in my pregnancy, and this book helped me in my search for what went wrong and provided guidance as my husband and I considered another pregnancy. But more importantly, it has been a treasured companion now that I am pregnant again. I read it anytime I need encouragement because every woman quoted in the book went on to have a healthy baby. That gives me hope that I will too!

    Where's the proactive support?

I'm sorry, but a book of 'it's not your fault' is not enough! We need a book of 'action' to PREVENT the next miscarriage! Until that book is published by the medical (not psychological) world, we're doomed, yes doomed to repeat our miscarriages!

a sad book to read after miscarrying

I felt sadder after reading this book. I know I'm not alone with regards to miscarriage, but more depression seems to be the theme of this book. I'd like to see more proactive professional advice for women like me.

    MADE ME FEEL HUMAN AGAIN

I lost my first pregnancy to downs syndrome and although this book did not really touch that topic and how i feared the baby would be sick again, this book did make me feel human again because it helped me get through the beginning where i thought there was no hope. This book helped me see the 'miracle' instead of seeing the dangers. I learned that there where other women out there who weren't excited and totally withdrawn from their subsequent pregnancies and above all, THEY WERE NORMAL FOR HAVING THOSE FEARS. In a world where all you hear is 'think positive', it's good to know that my negative thinking didn't mean that i didn't love my baby.

A great resource during a time of great suffering

Like the author, I suffered the full term still birth of a son. I found Carol's book and Carol herself to be of great support during my subsequent (successful) pregnancy in 2000. My copy of this book is quite doggeard, as I went back to it many times for support and comfort. I have kept it on my bookshelft, and will go back to it again should we decide to try again.

    Thanks to the Author

I was 24 weeks along when I found out that my baby's heart had stopped due to a cord accident. This book told stories of other women who have lost babies. All the women in this book have gone on to have a successful birth. This gives me hope. This book has helped me so much. Thank you!

    Gave me ??? to ask

When my son turn 2 years old I found out I was pregnant again and we were thirlled and I figured it would go as smoothly as my first, but I ended up suffering a miscarriage at 8 weeks. I was shocked and the doctors could not give me ANY answer as to what happen (the book gave me some clues as to what might have happen). When we decdied to try again for another baby the OB ask me 'do you have any question?' I couldn't think of any except 'will the next pregnancy last?' Now after reading this book I have a list of question to ask my OB. Plus I was able to requested blood test that doctors don't do until you suffer 4 miscarriage (that I didn't know about untill I read this book)I wasn't going to wait for that many miscarriages to get a result and knew excatly what to ask my doctor to test for to give me a peace of mind at trying to concive a very long healthier pregnancy next time. This book also helped me ask myself question Like am I ready to try again, should I wait? If you have had a loss I strongly suggest this book it will help with question you have and didn't think of. It goes over more then just the grief. And you don't need to be pregnant to read it, it helps you to look forward to what is ahead when you do become pregnant again after a loss.

It's helped me validate my fears...

I recently miscarried my first child at ten weeks gestation. I'm continuing to struggle with fertility issues and, now more than five months later, still trying to conceive. This book has helped me formulate questions for my OB, and sort out all the fears and anxiety I'm still going through. Once I got the book home, I curled up on the couch and couldn't put it down. Very positive and informative.
