But this is much more than a story of kings and generals. Though we certainly get to meet the likes of Paul Revere, Samuel Adams, John Hancock, and Benedict Arnold, the author focuses on the perspective of the common people. Thus, through the eyes of the fictional Dunson family of Boston we see what it was like to live in everyday colonial America, to fight among the minute men, to sail the seas at wartime, and to experience love and heartache as America's destiny unfolds. The underlying spiritual nature of that destiny is powerfully woven into the fabric of the story. And this spiritual perspective will give readers a better understanding of why the Founding Fathers were moved upon to champion a cause to which they pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor.

About the Author:
Ron Carter graduated from Brigham Young University and attended law school at George Washington University and the University of Utah. He retired as research and writing director for the Superior Court system in Los Angeles County, California, in 1999. To date, his books include volumes 1 through 7 of the "Prelude to Glory" series (volume 7 is soon to release in July of 2003), the humorous "Settlement" series, and The Clearwater Union War". He and his wife, LaRae, live in Park City, Utah, and have nine Children.

    LOVED IT!

I truly enjoyed this book, a friend of mine lent it to me and I haven't been able to put it down since! Unfortunately he wants it back so I'm hoping the publisher switches this to nook format so I can read it all the time then!

    enlightening

very informative, if only history classes could be written with this much detail and authenticity, and realism, I would have learned a lot more in high school. A must read for every American to realize what our forefathers endured for us, and an insight into how GOD influenced people and nations. All 6 versions are excellent, waiting on the 7th volume....

    Excellent fiction and immersive history

I thought that the entire series of Prelude to Glory as of this point have been phenomenal. I have learned more American history from this set of volumes than I did in school. Carter has done an amazing job creating a fictional family in such a deeply significant part of this nation's history. Outstanding.
