The National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) examination is currently used in 23 states and numerous counties/townships as the sole examination for licensure as a massage therapist. For students of massage, preparing for this examination can be overwhelming. This review text is formatted as a concise and specific review of information on the NCBTMB and other state licensing exams, compiled through years of collecting questions from new student graduates, instructors and seasoned massage therapists who have sat for and successfully completed these examinations.

The subjects covered in this review book have been developed from the outline in the NCBTMB examination booklet. Information to be covered in the following four chapters will include: The Human Body, Anatomy and Pathophysiology, Muscle Movement and Anatomy, and Massage and the Business of Massage. At the end of each chapter, a 100question examination is provided with rationale for each answer. A comprehensive 100question examination is found at the end of the text and two additional 100-question examinations are on the CD-ROM that accompanies the text.

This manual contains the most current information in the field of massage therapy, and test questions parallel those that have been repeatedly asked over the last five years.
