More About This Textbook

Overview

This kit enables users to build virtually all simple molecules encountered in organic chemistry. Includes space-filling models that simulate the true shape of saturated compounds. Provides open models that form realistic single, double, and triple bonds — even strained rings. Allows smooth rotation of the bonds to make conformational analysis easy. Contains enough components to create several models at once. The components are precision-tooled from quality plastics, are virtually indestructible, and come in a sturdy plastic case for easy storage. Provides a useful Instruction Book — with photos, diagrams, and concise discussions of chemical principles.

    Highly recomended-students love it!

This set has proven to be very useful for years. I have my students at University level work with the colorful pieces, and helps them comprehend the spatial distribution of atoms on molecules. As a matter of fact, this is the 4th set I aquire. Thank you.

    Great Product!

I totally loved this molecular model kit. I am a student, studying chemistry, and the model kit helped me see compounds in a different light.

Prentice Hall Molecular Model Set for Organic Chemistry

EXCELLENT practical tool to reinforce learning, however a single set does not provide enough atoms to complete common molecules. BUY TWO!

    Fun to build models

I have bought many of these kits to build models of the chemicals sold to the public--mostly drugs. Takes some strength and resolve to put them together, but the rewards of "seeing" chemicals that do good and evil--and there are thousands of new ones every year--creates awe and wariness. Teaching is greatly aided by these. One learns that similar looking structures can have wildly different properties. The challenge is greatly aided by purchasing the latest MERCK INDEX which shows just about everything you want to know, from formula and structure to lethal dose and marketing names. I look up every drug sold on TV. Highly recommended for teachers and parents. What's in your stomach?
