About the Author

My name is Karen Lee, I grew up in Cambridge in the United Kingdom.
The abuse started in my first relationship, a man whom I married but after 6 weeks left due to his violent outbursts.
I went on to remarry and have two beautiful children, unfortunately this marriage lasted 5 years and I spiralled into depression, nearly ending my life through suicide.
I then met my second abusive partner who for 4 years terrorised me with his words and actions, not violence but tantrums and emotional blackmail.
After several attempts of leaving it became clear that things were never going to improve, but then I suffered a severe loss in my granddad passing away and that was the catalyst for the final straw being placed on my back... I left and 3 months later, with all the negativity gone and a stone lighter wanted to start meeting new friends, I met Sean online and the rest they say is history.
I have now set up a website detailing my experience of abuse in order to help others recognise and understand it isn't their fault, and there are people out there who understand and can help.
It has already helped a few people and I hope to continue.
I am a fully qualified Hypnotherapist and EMDR specialist and I am also studying a BSc Honours degree in Psychology and Counselling in order to improve the help I can offer.
