"The one you like best. That's my favorite position. My favorite thing is making you feel good." Reeve Larkin needs a job. Sure, the actor is talented and gorgeous in that dreamy, broody sort of way that makes all the women swoon. But he lost out on a part in a big movie, and now his day job hours have been slashed too. What's a handsome young thing in need of a role to do? Sign up to be the fake fiancé of the sexy and shrewd casting director Sutton Brenner, who must appear temporarily attached if she's to land a coveted gig casting a red-hot film. So Sutton strikes a pact with Reeve to play the role of her fiancé until she closes the deal. The trouble is, she's sexy-as-hell and damn near irresistible to him. And he's not only a great guy, but also the best dirty talker she's ever met. It doesn't take long for their pretend love affair to heat up, especially after that toe-curling night in the balcony of the Broadway theater. And that scorching afternoon in the stacks of the New York Public Library. A red-hot love affair. An intense connection. But as the lines between make-believe and matters of the heart blur, can two people working in the world of acting fake it til they make it?

Picked up this book for 99 cents.  It was AWESOME!  Fast paces, great characters, great story line.  I really enjoyed it.  I will be reading more in this series and more by this author.

I bought the boxed set Tangled Up In Love which included: Caught Up In Us Pretending He's Mine Trophy Husband Playing With Her Heart These can all be read as stand alone books but I recommend reading them in the above order. They are all wrapped up in each other, both character and timewise. In the boxed set, there are 648 pages (NOOK). All four books are about finding love and what it means to each different set of couples. There are also steamy love scenes in all the books, which is always good, right? Lauren Blakely's writing style is smooth and very believable. You can picture all the characters as if they were your neighbors or best friends. I highly recommend this series.

## Yes, it was a tad short. But still fabulous. I loved both the hero and heroine. Reeve was drool-worthy turning Sutton on with innuendo and dirty talk that was intoxicating. I adored the wine closet scene. Fun, flirty and sexy read.

Ooh-la-la! Pretending is a good ten degrees hotter than Caught Up in Us. Sexual chemistry pours off the page the minute actor Reeve steps into casting director Sutton's office. It's a modern day casting couch love story.

Swoon Worthy Lauren Blakely knows how to write an awesome romance.  Reeve is such a romantic at heart and willing to put it on the line unlike most male characters.  Sutton is a hard nosed woman unwilling to admit what she wants most, which makes it all the better that Reeve is willing to fight for her.

"Tell me. Tell me where you want my lips." "Between my legs," she said with a moan... "You do, Sutton? Are you sure?" She nodded. Her face was red with heat. Her mouth was dry. She could barely speak.. "Yes." "You want me to take off your jeans?" "Yes." "And throw them on the floor of your apartment?" "Yes." "And pull off your panties?" "Yes," she said in a broken whisper. "And push you back on your bed. And place my hands on the inside of your thighs and have you spread your legs open for me? You'd want me to do that?" "So much. So f***g much," she said..."And lick you? You'd want me to taste how hot you are, right? Because I can feel it through your jeans. I can tell you are so unbelievably wet for me, aren't you?" "Yes" Lauren Blakely, Pretending He's Mine Oh my..{sighs} fanning self. I Loved!! "Pretending He's Mine". It is a flirty, sweet, steamy read. It starts out a slow burn that builds into an exhilarating heat.. Reeve has a dirty mouth and knows exactly how to use it, he has to be one of the best dirty talkers...I have come across. He had me fanning myself and blushing at every turn. I will never view the theater or library in the same way again. I actually felt lightheaded while reading the restaurant scene, excerpts of which are quoted above. If you like a smooth talker Reeve is definitely the right man for the job. He can use his dirty mouth on me any time!! Sutton Brenner is a well know casting director. Reeve Larkin is an actor in need of a job. The relationship between Sutton and Reeve begins as a business proposition that promises to benefit them both, but soon sparks are flying between them and the lines between business and pleasure are not so easy to define. The chemistry between Sutton and Reeve is seductive and irresistible. He is sexy and confident and not afraid to go after what he wants and he wants Sutton. While Sutton is definitley attracted to Reeve, she is confused by those feelings. He is after all an actor, is what's happening between them real or is he just living up to his end of their business agreement? Can Sutton let down her walls and truly let Reeve in? Will they both get what they want and need. This is such a fun, hot story.. You can't go wrong picking up "Pretending He's Mine" by Lauren Blakely

This is a really good short read. The chemistry between the main characters is great....and the dirty talk is even better! Sweet and romantic book. What more could you ask for!?

Hard up for a FIFTY SHADES fix? Can't wait until production finally starts on the movie? Well, look no further to satisfy your desire. Lauren Blakely has you covered. She imagines what it would be like for a hungry young actor to vie for such a life-changing role. And it doesn't hurt that he's as hot as hell either. Enter Reeve a struggling bike messenger slash thespian who yearns for something more substantial than filming toothpaste commercials. He's willing to do whatever it takes to advance his career. Consequently, so is Sutton. She's a British casting director who is "the best appraiser of male flesh" in the industry. She's fresh off the success of a MAGIC MIKE-like stripper movie and she's dying to work on the film version of the most popular erotic novel in modern history. And Reeve is her ticket in the door. All he has to do is pretend to be her fiance. But things get a lot more complicated than that. Reeve does too good of a job convincing Sutton that he can't get enough of her. She knows men like Reeve and she doesn't trust her heart around any actor. They're all just playing a role. None of them are really interested in her, they're just trying to land their next gig. But he can't resist her sexy librarian vibe and despite her better judgement she starts to buy his act. They can't keep their hands off each other - in a department store dressing room, in a private box at a Broadway play and behind the stacks at the New York Public Library. But there are smaller, more significant moments that round out the passionate scenes giving them extra depth and dimension. Like maybe this unlikely relationship could work. I love tiny morsels like: "Then Sutton felt Reeve's warm hand and glanced down to see him loop his long, strong fingers through hers and squeeze. It was tender and comforting, and it was exactly what she needed." These little gems help spark the foundation of their romance so that it's built on more than just physical attraction. And yet at the same time, it makes the combustible scenes even more intense because they really do like and care about each other. Sutton is a control freak who doesn't even realize that she needs saving. Her life is pretty empty until she meets Reeve. All she has is her beloved pooch, The Artful Dodger, and her high profile job. That's it. She plays hot and cold and thinks she can train Reeve like he's her dog. She has a lot to learn when it comes to lowering her defense mechanisms and letting people in. Yet she chooses Reeve, responding to his willingness to put it all on the line. She likes how he goes after what he wants. And he wants her. Oh, does he want her.
