One Friday afternoon when school just let out, I came running through the doors and down the street. I was so excited and happy. I couldn't wait to tell Nana Ella about all the wonderful things the kids and teachers were saying about me.
I opened the doors to our house very quickly. There was my Nana Ella standing in the kitchen with my snack. I said, "Nana Ella, Nana Ella, all of the kids and teachers kept calling me pretty today! They said
I have pretty hair, I have pretty skin, I have pretty eyes, and my clothes are even pretty!"
"Aren't I pretty Nana Ella? Aren't I pretty? You say it, too, Nana Ella! You say it, too! Tell me how pretty I am! Tell me I'm pretty!"
Nana Ella didn't say a word, but looked at me with those deep, beautiful, dark brown eyes full of love and wisdom as she gave me the biggest smile.
