Meet the Author

I was a Russian spy at the ripe age of thirteen, given my uncanny ability to tell if someone was lying ( I also read fortunes on the weekends). By sixteen I had become too much of a handful for the Lethal Intelligence Ensemble (L.I.E.). I was quickly exiled to the south of France where I worked with wayward elephants in the Circus of Roaming Animals and People (C.R.A.P.). I was able to make ends meet by selling my organs on the black market for pocket change and beer money. At the age of twenty three I decided to expand my horizons and become a blackjack dealer in Ireland. I loved the family atmosphere at Barney's Underground Liquor Lounge (B.U.L.L.). People couldn't resist the allure of Liquor up front and poker in the rear. Eventually I became tired of the rear and headed off to the United States to try my hand at tall tales. That is what brings us here today. If you have a moment I'd like to tell you a story.

I have a book hangover in the best possible way.  I have had people telling me I had to read Teresa Mummert for a long time now and I keep adding her books to my TBR, but this is the first one that I have read.  It will not be the last.  Not by a long shot.  The book was not at all what I thought it was about, but that did not keep me from being sucked into the story from the first page.  In fact I think that made the ride even more fun for me.  Annie and Colin look like they live the perfect life to outsiders.  Nothing could be further from the truth.  I absolutely loved the darkness and emotionally powerlessness of it.  I do not want to give too much away about the plot because part of the awesomeness of it is that I never knew what was coming next.  Romance, suspense, twists and turn, and honest emotions made this a read that I am sure will stay with me a long time.

This story is unique and a little on the dark side. A lovely story about an imperfect love that despite all the obstacles, it could lead to the most amazing things. The relationship between Colin and Annabel was a deep and erotic exploration of love, life and sexuality.

This book came out like I have never seen. I saw the cover and heard from the author and I was instantly hooked. Then I saw the trailer and I was completely sucked in! I wanted this book so bad lol

It was a good read and nothing like anything else I have ever read before. It was a brilliant change from the rich businessman and poor sappy young woman.

It was interesting but unfortunately I found it dragged on at parts and I was expecting something a little more - I may have been waiting for something to jump out of the wood work because even though I found it a little draggy it still was emotional and had you on the edge of your seat in anticipation. The history and the secrets were really interesting and not exactly what i was expecting.

This story touches on the subject of something taboo and is almost hard to accept but because it doesn't fully go there, it is acceptable. It will bring you close to that line and may have you reading between your fingers but it will be worth it :)

I have to tell you that starting this book, I had a really hard time getting into it. The first few chapters just left me sort of stumped, now whether that was me or the book I will never really know. I will tell you that all of the sudden it all clicked, was I still a little confused yes, but I’m pretty sure that was the intent. Pretty little things was just that, pretty little things. A tortured life for Collin thinking that he will never be anything more than he is, and settling for a life that he created for himself. The only thing he truly lived for was his “little One” but never getting close enough to give power to the feelings deep down inside of him, always sticking with the things he was taught to do, never giving into his true self. In the story we also meet Annie, and she is the sweet innocent girl! Always pushing the boundaries, never realizing exactly what she has or what she has taken for granted. Until one day everything she has known changes. Annie quickly makes decisions that leave her open as a target, because she doesn’t understand exactly what lurks in the shadows!!

Teresa Mummert has a way to weave a story that I love! Pushing the boundaries to an almost psychological thriller point. I LOVE It!! Its different and very well done. When you finish your reading you realize you didn’t just read the same thing again. Now I just have to wait for Rellik!!

AMAZING! TWO BROKEN SOULS WITH DARK SECRETS + PASSION + LOVE = PRETTY LITTLE THINGS

Pretty Little Things is about Annabel and Colin starting a new life with an adoptive father, stability, education, and friends. Even though they both had a new life, they also shared a secret of a horrid past.

“I was young enough not to understand that my life was different. Colin became the one person I could count on to protect me. He suffered for the both of us by carrying the burden of our secret.” - Annabel

Colin now worked for his adoptive father, Connor Blakely, while also looking after Annabel in his “big brother” role while she attended an upscale private high school. Colin kept Annabel grounded to the lady she needed to be, because her past was not a bad dream that could be thought of lightly. Colin and Annabel have sexual tension starts to intensifies, but his demeanor is too dark and would destroy Annabel even though he is attracted to her too.

“So I did what I knew best, and I instilled fear in her.” – Colin

Colin was also fighting his own demons of his past, because the founder of The Descendants of God, Taylor Woodward, was preparing Colin at the age of fourteen the inner workings of an unconventional institution as a leader. As the years went by, Colin was only sickening with the act of the church until he found his angel in the darkness.

“This one is a pretty little thing. You’ll like her. Her name is Annabel...She is yours. A gift from God himself.” – Taylor

Can Colin overcome his past and learn to love or will his past succeed to strip Annabel to submission? Will Colin let Annabel go, because she deserves a better man not a Beast of Monster?

“I’d be lying if I said it didn’t turn me on. The things I’d experienced as a child had changed me. It wasn’t excuse; it was a fact that I’d had come to terms with a long time ago. I wasn’t proud of my overwhelming desire to control, manipulate, and dominate. But I enjoyed it. Still, I was torn when it came to Annie.” - Colin

Annabel and Colin’s story is heartwarming, because there is no denying their feelings for one another. Unfortunately, their past weighs your heart full of sorrow due to the turmoil they had to endure. With all the twist and turns, you will find yourself engulfed in their story feelings their sorrows and happiness too.

“It is my job to protect you. I never had a choice. Just like I had no choice but to love you. I will spend every second of the rest of my life undoing every wrong that was brought upon you. If I can make you feel loved, my life will have purpose. You loving me in return would be a blessing not a necessity.” - Colin

Author Teresa Mummert’s romance novel, Pretty Little Things, has done an AMAZING job writing a BEAUTIFUL DARK TWISTED ROMANCE STORY that will capture your attention immediately and find yourself unable to put the book down, especially after reading the prologue and first chapter. You will also experience a roller coaster of emotions from feeling SCARED, SAD, SUSPENSEFUL, SHOCKED, and HOTNESS with the STEAMY SEX SCENCES.

“Love isn't something you can take. You give and if you're lucky, it is given to you.” - Connor

I rate Teresa Mummert’s novel, Pretty Little Things – 5 AMAZING STARS!

Teresa Mummert is one of my favorite authors and honestly she just never disappoints me. Her writing is never predictable and she creates characters that are so outside of the box that you can't help but fall in love with them.

Colin Blakely: alpha, dominant, strong, sex on legs, I am in lust with him!
Annie Blakely: Sweet, innocent (not so much), stubborn, pretty little thing!

The plot in this book is just so unexpected and unlike anything I have ever read. It was refreshing to lose myself in a story line unlike any I have read before. I really wish there was about 500,000 more pages to this book (maybe a slight exaggeration) I was just not ready for it to end. I found myself in turmoil over wanting to see how the book ended and hoping it never did.

Read this book, escape into the world of Colin and Annie..you will not be disappointed.

I knew this book would be good before I read it. However, it was great compared to my expectations.
The story was intriguing, emotional, and I couldn't put it down. Once I started, I had to finish. cole and
Annabel were amazing. Their attraction to one another was undeniable. What these to went through and
experienced before finding their HEA was heart-wrenching. I was speechless as I read this story. But
even with the horror they experienced, they turned it into something very beautiful. I highly recommend
Pretty Little Things to other readers. You won't be disappointed. If you haven't read anything by Teresa
Mummert before, this will be a great start for you. It was for me!

The connection between Colin and Annie is undeniable, even from the very beginning. Was a little draggy but def. A quick read. Along with some seamy scenes made for an overall good book. Might check out other books from this author.

    Blah..

I was really excited about this book. I had been keeping an eye on the teasers for awhile. The teasers were better than the book. I loved Colin and Annie. There just wasnt enough there. I didnt understand the whole jacob scenario. It was really rushed and I was left going thats all. I'm kinda sad that I spent 2.99 on this.

Teresa Mummert's Pretty Little Things is not a book which should be read by people who sensibilities are easily offended! This story, though short, delivers a plot line which is bursting with sexual tension, raw passion and intense emotions.
Annie and Colin both have tortured pasts, escaping together from a person they still hide from. Colin is the anti hero, Annie's savior and protector, but mentally and physically damaged by the years he spent in a cult, preventing him from having a 'normal' relationship.  Annie is the good girl turning bad, ready to rebel against the status of her foster father and brother and to reach a point of self awakening, sexually and emotionally.
Teresa Mummert presents her reader with situations and events in the story which we may question the morality of, but I never felt Annie and Colin's relationship was one of these.
I did feel that Jake's insertion as a narrator almost interrupted the flow of the novel and apart from revealing Colin's jealousy I questioned why he was given so much importance.
Pretty Little Things may be slightly twisted and deviant but I loved it!

I realize I may be in the minority here, but this is my least favorite Teresa Mummert book to date.

Pretty Little Things fell flat. It was a quick read, but not in the "I must read it all now!" sort of way. It was short and, frankly, kind of boring. When I realized I was over halfway through the book and nothing had really happened, I knew I was in for disappointment.

I'm not sure the book had any redeeming qualities. The characters, Annie and Colin, didn't do it for me. Annie surely seemed to be suffering from Stockholm Syndrome. Colin had anger issues. And really, their "father" didn't get them any therapy after saving them? That's odd, especially what they supposedly went through. None of the characters felt real or multidimensional. The storyline was pretty boring. Nothing is really covered in any sort of depth, so we're left in the dark. Then, bam! The book is over.

This is a definitely a book I'd say you should pass on. There are better books, especially from Teresa Mummert.
