Kenneth MacLeish, the younger brother of poet Archibald MacLeish, was a member of the First Yale Unit, a popular group of young naval pilots from Yale University who formed the nucleus of the fledgling American aviation forces in Europe during World War One. This collection of over 200 never-before-published letters to his fiancee, Priscilla Murdock, covers MacLeish's entire flying career, from his early training as a student volunteer in March 1917 until his death in combat just three weeks before the war's end.
