Overview

It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife...in bed. Unfortunately, we've never been able to see Elizabeth and Fitzwilliam in flagrante delicto—until now.

In this deliciously naughty updating of the beloved classic, you can peek behind the closed doors of Pemberley's sexiest master bedroom—and revel in the sexual delights of your favorite couple.

From first kiss to orgasmic finish, this book is every Austen fan's dream come true—the story you love, with the heat turned up to high. It will come as no surprise that the dashing Mr. Darcy is as passionate and intense with his knickers off as he is with them on. And admit it, we've all wanted to see him sans knickers!

I wasn't terribly impressed, but also not offended as some reviewers seem to be. The additions were obviously meant in the spirit of good fun, judging by what the back of the book says: "Elizabeth Bennett and Mr. Darcy FINALLY DO IT!" That being said, the sex scenes weren't always tasteful (Mr. Darcy masturbating to thoughts of Elizabeth Bennett?). There were also bits of commentary and dialogue added in order to explain the sarcasm and wit in Austen's original text, which I thought was completely unnecessary. In any case, the additions were all clearly delineated in bold (though I found the bolding didn't show up with certain fonts in the Nook app). If you read it, keep in mind that it's mean to be fun!

While this "version" had potential, it ultimately read like fanfiction--and not good fanfiction. There's a reason we love Jane Austen, and adding lines to explain her dialogue takes some of the crackle out of it. Some of the back-story fill-in was interesting, but the whole book was blown to smithereens when license was taken with our hero and heroine--license that went not only completely out of character, but was totally unbelievable in the context of the original. Had the writer waited a little longer before introducing her "heat", it would have earned at least another star, maybe two.

I tried ro give this one a fair shot, but it was really just a mess of poorly written erotica injected into what was a great novel.
