ROCK YOU ALL NIGHT LONG

The first time he lays eyes on Taylor Ross in a bar, Colt Priestley does something few men would dare to do. He approaches the world-famous singer, shamelessly flirts with her, and gives her a night in his bed that neither of them will soon forget.

When Taylor's record label hires a bodyguard to keep tabs on the out-of-control rocker, she's less than thrilled to find it's her off-the-charts one-night stand who shows up for the job. She's terrified of letting herself fall for the damaged ex-Army Ranger, and she's determined to push him away. Yet every moment they're together simmers with tension. As the danger from an obsessed stalker mounts, Taylor and Colt are tempted to cross that line again-baring their hearts and souls as well as their bodies-and there's no telling how hot this song will get.

Wyatt continues her winning streak with her second Bodyguard contemporary (after Necessary). Singer-songwriter Taylor Ross sits in a Los Angeles bar, desperately trying to write songs for an overdue album. A creepy fan accosts her, and former Army Ranger and freelance bodyguard Colt Priestley rescues her. Instant desire lands them in a sizzling one-night stand. Taylor’s recent misbehaving antics lead her record label to hire two bodyguards to keep her out of trouble, and Colt and a friend take the jobs. Characterization is Wyatt’s strong suit as she draws intricate word-pictures of Colt’s PTSD nightmares and Taylor’s trust issues, giving both of them reasons to keep their relationship professional despite mutual attraction. Wyatt balances humor with drama in this tense romantic thriller, and the ongoing plot of a villain pulling strings behind the scenes will have readers eager for the next series installment. And the first was good. Tighter plot, better dialog, and the pranking was funny! I would prefer a little more story and a little less sex, though the sex was well done, just too much. I find myself invested in the characters and looking forward to the next book, which I've already pre-ordered.

I am really loving this Bodyguard series by Tara Wyatt! I thought she couldn't top Sierra and Sean from the first book, but I loved the connection between Taylor and Colt even more! They were powerful and raw ... sweet yet sexy as all get out ... wounded yet strong enough to reach for what they wanted. Great supporting characters and a suspense laced plot aid in making this a well rounded story. I really enjoyed it! Rock star Taylor Ross has been let down and had her heart broken one too many times ... and she's simply done! She lets loose and loses herself in anything she can find ... a bottle, a quick screw, a fast car. Now all of a sudden her record label thinks they can't trust her to get the job done on her next album and throw a bodyguard at her to keep her on the straight and narrow ... oh, and just her luck? It's the sex machine that just gave her the best one night stand of her life! Former Army ranger Colt Priestly can't believe that his life might actually be looking up when he is assigned to work with the woman he can't stop thinking about. He might be haunted by his past and not capable of giving her everything she needs, but he can't bring himself to turn away from the pull he feels towards her. When danger rears it's ugly head and Colt has to buckle down and keep Taylor safe, they decide they can't deny their feelings for each other any longer ... but will they be able to make it last for the long haul when outside forces interfere?

I love this series! Cannot wait for the 3rd book. The storylines are exciting, the characters are well-developed and there is just the right amount of hot and steamy. Colt is my favorite so far!

As book two in the author’s Bodyguards series, Primal Instinct is just as well done as the first book. This story features Taylor Ross, a rock/pop phenomenon who is the best friend of Sierra, the heroine from the first book. Taylor has been getting into some trouble lately which causes her record label to hire a full time bodyguard for her. How ironic that one of the bodyguards that has been hired is Colt, her one night stand who she felt more than just lust for. Colt, also, felt a strong connection to Taylor during their night of passion and is happy to reconnect with the talented and sexy beauty. But, neither of them feels worthy of love or commitment from anyone because of past hurts. Taylor is a strong, sexy, raunchy, tell it like it is kind of character who isn’t afraid to act like the strong rocker chick. But, deep down, she is vulnerable and scared and feels unworthy of being loved for the long term. She had a relationship going with a body guard who works with her best friend’s boyfriend, but that fizzled and left Taylor hurt and looking for ways to forget him. Colt has also been hurt, but his hurt happened on the battlefield where he witnessed something awful which caused severe PTSD and nightmares for the former soldier. He won’t talk about it with anyone and looks for ways to numb the pain and stop the dreams. Until Taylor. These characters have such an intense chemistry together. Yes, this book is raunchy and smexy, but it fits the characterization and storyline. There is a lot of intense suspenseful action going on throughout the book, something neither of the characters were prepared to fight against. A crazy/dangerous father, a psychotic fan, and then their own demons each present themselves as a roadblock to happiness for Colt and Taylor. While this is the second book in a series, it can easily be read as a stand-alone. Tara Wyatt has just been added to my must buy list of authors because she continues to write amazing suspenseful stories that keep me engrossed and wanting more! Kudos, Ms. Wyatt! *Copy provided for review.

Format of review copy: Print ARC Every girl has been where Taylor is currently, heart broken fresh out of a relationship. Though with the exception of being under the microscope considering she's a music star, her heart break is public knowledge. Colt, had me from his entrance in the story. He was undeniably sexy and definitely a hottie mctottie who will be hard to forget. The suspense kept me guessing from beginning to end even though you knew who the bad guy was from the start. If you're looking for a meant to be with a touch of the Body Guard thrown in then I would definitely recommend checking out Primal Instinct.

4.5 Stars! I enjoyed Necessary Risk and thought it was a great debut, but Ms. Wyatt does even better with Primal Instinct. She amps up the passion, suspense and humor in this second installment of the series and I just want to get my hands on the next right now! PS: this book should come with an NSFW label because of the heat factor. Taylor Ross isn't having the best of times lately. Heartbroken from being dumped by the man she was falling for, her escapades have become tabloid fodder and in a last chance bid to keep her focused on her music, her record label hires her a bodyguard. Much to her dismay, her new bodyguard is the man she had just spent the previous night with, the man she ran away from after a night of pleasure and she's determined not to fall for him. Colt Priestley is so much more than the screw-up we met in the previous book. After being fired from his previous job, he became a freelancer and while he knows that he shouldn't take the job as Taylor's bodyguard because his objectivity has been compromised, he can't let anyone else protect her. Which turns out to be a good decision because Taylor has got more problems than the delay with her upcoming album and there is no better person she needs in her corner than one who is as invested in her as Colt is. Wow! There is so much to love here. Taylor and Colt actually have taken Sierra and Sean's spot in my heart, which is surprising because Colt wasn't such a stand-up guy previously. I love that they both enjoyed life with no holds barred and no apologies. Falling for each other is unexpected but the best thing to happen to them. Both have been lonely for some time and they fill the emptiness in each other's life completely, but they also enjoy each other's company outside the bedroom and the pranks they played on each other had me laughing so hard, but my favorite thing about them has to be that they had each other's backs completely and even when things weren't so good with them, Colt was still invested in Taylor's well-being. Primal Instinct is a fun, sexy and suspenseful read that should make everyone's reading list this summer. I was both excited and nervous about reading Primal Instinct. I love trying new authors but I really hate read a series out of order. I've gotten better about it but I'm still not comfortable with it. In fact...I will let you in on a deep, dark secret of mine. Even if I love the series I won't go back and read the prior books. I just can't do it. Oh well, enough about that. Now on to Primal Instinct. Tara Wyatt is a new author to me, one that I really like. I found Primal Instinct to be funny, well-written, with some really great characters. I really liked Colt. He's a really great sexy guy that I wouldn't mind watching over me. I also enjoyed Taylor, but not as much. I'm think that's because I'm not really a huge fan of hero or heroins in the music world. It's just doesn't do it for me. Not a huge fan of actors either. You'll really love how fast the story moves. That's in part to the good writing. You'll be afraid to put it down for fear you'll miss something. I felt like I was watching a action movie, only in print. I will for sure be reading the next book in the series.

Taylor Ross knows she's on a mission that isn't going to end well, but after having her heartbroken, and a lingering past that always finds a way to haunt her she can't help but to fall into the bottle and let it take over. It numbs the pain and helps her forget for just a little while, but it also causes her to make very poor choices, choices that now have her record label worried and ready to intervene. They are demanding she have a bodyguard to help keep her out of trouble, and help her get her life back on the straight and narrow, which doesn't sit well with her at all, she doesn't need a damn babysitter, but at this point what she wants is no longer an option, so she accepts defeat... and gets the surprise of her life. Never in a million years did she expect to see him again, after one of exquisite pleasure she walked away, full well knowing if she stayed it would only mean trouble for her already broken heart. But here he is standing in front of her, ready to be her bodyguard... When Ex-Army Ranger Colt Priestley witnesses famous songstress Taylor Ross being harassed in a bar and in dire need of saving he decides to roll the dice and step in and be her hero in hopes of it earning her attention and maybe more... and boy did it! The minute he gets close to her the sparks start to fly, and they share a intense chemistry that neither can deny, which quickly turns into one of the hottest nights Colt has ever had. Just when he thinks their onto to something good, something that could potentially last more than one night, he wakes up alone, she's slipped out without so much as an goodbye and he is certain he'll never see her again. But that's all about to change... she is in need of a bodyguard, and her record label is certain he is the perfect man for the job. Now he just has to make the most of his second chance with her...and hope it's enough to convince her to stick around this time! The minute I saw the cover for this read I was intrigued, then I read the synopsis, and instantly decided I was totally in, I mean what's not to love about a sexy ex-Army Ranger turned bodyguard on a mission to protect the woman he loves!! The second Colt appeared on the page I knew it was just a matter of time before he had me at his mercy... and true to my thought the minute he let loose with a few his purely sinful sexy one-liners he had me weak in the knees... and dying for more!! I was instantly sold on his confident swagger, caring nature, and unwavering devotion to provide complete satisfaction...dare I say he was the perfect alpha!! He will DEFINITELY be joining my elite list of favorites!! This is by far one of the most impressive first reads I have had in a very long time, the story line had the perfect blend of steamy romance, playful banter and thrilling suspense that held my attention captive right up until the last page was turned!! Ms. Wyatt completely won me over with this one, and turned me into a lifelong fan, I wholeheartedly look forward to diving into more of her stories in the very near future!!

Fun rocker/bodyguard romantic suspense. Taylor Ross is a rocker on a downward spiral. A broken heart leads to some bad choices. When the record label hires a bodyguard to keep tabs on the out-of-control rocker, she's less than thrilled to find it's her off-the-charts one-night stand who shows up for the job. Colt Priestley has issues. He has survivors guilt and PTSD. He is a born protector and when the chance comes for him to guard the one night stand he can’t forget well he is on it. The heat between Taylor and Colt is off the charts. If folks would stop trying to kidnap/kill her they might have a chance. There is very little new in this story but it is put together so well and the characters are so relatable that you can’t help but turn the page. I look forward to the next installment in this series.
