Deputy Daisy Picou is not impressed when Ram Reinhardt prowls into town all rock star swagger and big cat ego. She's been burned by a lion before and has no intention of playing the fool twice. But with one scorching glance the mating frenzy ignites and passion trumps reason. An intense first encounter levels Daisy's reservations-and most of her living room. Having not ventured too far off the basic wolf shifter path in a paranormal adventure, Primal Song definitely piqued my interest when I read it was between a lion and a bear. My inner geek of course had to ask “What kind of off spring do a lion and bear create?” “How does this work?” “Is this even possible?” This is, of course,  a paranormal romance and the author has full authority to make her story anything she chooses so I pushed my inner geek to the back recesses of my mind and enjoyed the story.

The attraction between Daisy and Ram was instant, spontaneous and on fire! While normally I don’t particularly care for a couple getting hot and heavy so early on in the relationship, it fit these two perfectly. In addition to the main characters steaming up the sheets, there were certainly some scenes in this story that were so silly and comical that I was definitely laughing out loud. I thought I was going to bust a gut when Ram attempted to get a haircut at the Hair Shack or the time Daisy was on the phone with her mom. Daisy’s parents are hilarious as well, although that’s another pairing that had my inner geek going hmmm.

The author did an excellent job of bringing both characters to life. I could easily feel that Ram was lonely and growing tired of his rock star life and wanting something more to come home to at night. I also felt the insecurity, pain, and humiliation Daisy was feeling and worries she had after having been hurt by a “big-city lion” in the past. While there wasn’t a huge twist in the plot or a big murder mystery involved, it was a nice, sweet, scorching hot, love story between two individuals looking for that special someone that I greatly enjoyed.

Overall, if you are looking for a light, slightly silly at times, paranormal that will scorch your eyebrows too, you can’t go wrong with Primal Song. I am eagerly looking forward to book 2 releasing so we get to see the fireworks between Kitty and Monk’s story.

I have found a new author! This book kept me in it til the end.

I loved the back and forth with the hero and heroine. Deputy Daisy Picou, a bear shifter is smart, sassy and independent. She’s also been hurt by love before. She wants a mate and cubs just not with a lion shifter. She’s been burned by one before.

Ram, a rockstar lion shifter is not looking for a mate. He watched his dad hurt his mom by bringing more and more women into his pride while growing up. He promises himself, if he ever finds his mate, he will be true to her.

Ram’s band is playing in a small town Louisiana at the county festival. He sees the deputy and can’t stop looking at her. I love that he finally quits fighting it and goes and finds Daisy. I also love that she doesn’t just fall at his feet, but that she does melt when he kisses her. Chemistry like that, yum!

Daisy figures with Ram’s lifestyle he will only stay in town until he gets bored. She figures she’ll just have fun with him until he leaves. Ram sets out to make her believe that he’s not going anywhere and she’s it for him.

The way he finally wins her over was so hot. I can’t wait to read the second book in this series. I want to see how Monk wins Kitty’s love back. Primal Design can’t come soon enough. Danica, keep up the good work girl! I will be reading more.

    Hysterically Funny & Sexually Delicious!

This is one of the most humorous, hottest, and brilliantly written paranormal romance novella's I have ever read. Danica Avet's writing is smooth with visionary scenes that capture your laughter button and will have you in tears from laughing so hard out loud.

The story's creativity of a Metal Rock lead singer (Ram Reinhardt - Lion Shifter) and his journey dealing with the same ole same ole routine dealing with fame, the media, and the ever chasing groupies that willingly throw themselves at him sexually eventually takes a toll on his inner being making him realize his true loneliness. This is a classically reality we are all familiar with personally or know of from the tab loids we read. However, by bringing the paranormal element to the story with different types of animal shifters in a civilize community is absolutely brilliant.

I found the story more interesting and exciting learning about the band and thought it very humorous to learn the band group were all different type of cat shifters consisting of two Tigers, a Lion, a Lynx and a Panther. Of course it is ironic that the lead singer (Ram) would be the Lion - as we know that Lions can Roar - LOL

Ram's character won me over with not only his magnetism of sexuality but because of his back ground raising and how he had a sensitive side to him, he cared about others feelings deep down and that had me melting in Awe - Such a loveable Kitty - LOL

Deputy Daisy cracked me up, one big giant amazon assss of a woman (Bear Shifter) that could kick assss and take names. It was ironic that she was the law because in real life you never mess with a bear - LOL I loved Daisy's character, she might not of been a beautiful magazine model but she was beautiful on the inside and most important, she wasn't fake looking like some of these magazine models are. A hard working independent woman like myself could totally identify with her. Her tough attitude made me laugh and I was melting right along with her when she submitted to Ram's charm.

The bantering between Ram and Daisy is a world wind of fun and will have you laughing out loud. The erotic sexual scenes are smoking hot and intense so get ready for a cold shower after you read this hot number or find your better half and jump his bones. LOL Danica Avet can write some hot scenes, I mean the scriptive wording is so visual that I could actual feel the fast powerful thrust Ram pounded Daisy with, it gave me chills down my back. There are so many great erotic scenes that I would love to tell you about and talk about in a great more length of time but I dont want to spoil the story, lets just say that they will forever be in my dreams they were that good.

Ram and Daisy's characters were definitely the highlight of the story but the other characters such as her mom and dad - OMGwd, they were freakn' hilarious, you have to read this book to find out what they do to put Ram and Daisy in jail. Excuse my language but it was ff-uu-cc-kk-inggg funnier than shiite, I think I rolled on the floor laughing out loud with tears in my eyes for 30 minutes before I could pick up the book and start reading it again - I'm still laughing on the inside when I think about it. Daisy's cousin (best friend) and her long time hated friend were funny too and I am hoping that their story will be the next one in the series.

Overall, this is an excellent read, I am truly a huge fan of Danica Avets, every book I have read of hers have been excellent reads full of fun, lust, love, happiness, some sadness, and just an overall blitz of joy that will last me for a laugh time of memory. I will totally be JONES-ING for the next book to come out in the series.

Now go buy this book - LOL

    Fabulous Read!
