Purpose: Since many patients with musculoskeletal problems present initially to primary care providers, the information in this book will enable primary care physicians and allied health professionals to provide more effective care from the outset.
Audience: The audience includes primary care providers, including residents, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners.
Features: The chapters review by region. Each chapter has a focused history with an emphasis on important details gleaned from the history that would implicate particular conditions. A focused physical examination discusses and illustrates the specifics of the examination including provocative tests. Other diagnostic tests, including imaging, and treatment options are in turn discussed. Sample cases are presented to stimulate the thinking process and discussion.
