Reviewer: Celso Agner, MD, MS, MSc (Michigan Neurology Partners)
Description: The understanding of the autonomic nervous system has significantly increased over the past few decades. Dissemination of this knowledge is crucial in determining future directions in this area of neurology.
Purpose: The purpose of this book is to address different aspects of the autonomic regulation of our bodies. These valuable objectives are completely met by the authors.
Audience: Neurologists, neurophysiologists, neurosurgeons, and students will find this a valuable source of information. The authors are well known authorities in the field.
Features: The 120 chapters are written by 148 authors. Although the topic has been explored in other books, the unique feature of this one is the succinct manner it explores the autonomic nervous system. Moreover, the organization of the chapters, the high quality pictures, and the progressive clinical interaction throughout the text provides a complete view of neuro-autonomic disorders, including their potential management options.
Assessment: This is an important acquisition for general libraries and for neurological departments.
