My best friend introduced me to the wonders of anime and of Princess Mononoke. Since I'm an avid musician, one of the first things I look for in a movie or game or anything, is music. I love this soundtrack. It's amazing!!

This is my all time favorite CD. It retains the wonders of the movie Princess Mononoke (Mononoke Hime) but adds spotlight to the beauty of the intstruments heard in it. With 32 tracks, this CD is well worth your money and your time.

On this CD, the only bad thing about it, is that the tracks are not very long, but the wonderful music just washes that away. Since I saw the movie for the first time, my mind was stuck on one of the songs that I absolutely loved (and still do.) It is a wonderful CD in which all people should get!

With all of its beautiful melodies, it's hard not to like this cd. I feel bad saying the tracks are too short (the average song is around 1 minute), but at times, their length does seem to interfere with enjoying the actual music itself. There is another import cd that is supposed to have more symphonic music (able to expand more on the melodies from this sound track instead of being separated into choppy 1-minute segments) based on Princess Mononoke and composed by the same composer Joe Hisaishi, and I've heard more say they like it than not. That's not to say the music on this cd isn't worth listening to. After seeing the movie, it brings back to mind each of the scenes and characters, and is certainly well composed. I can't stop listening to it!

All Music Guide - Heather Phares
Hayao Miyazaki's critically acclaimed anime film Princess Mononoke features an evocative score by Jo Hisaishi that reflects the movie's epic story of the battle between animal deities and humans in 14th century Japan.
