Editorial Reviews
Jane E. Sullivan
This third edition (previous editions, 1987 and 1991) considers the theoretical basis and treatment suggestions in the areas of electrodiagnostics, electrotherapy (NMES, TENS, MENS, iontophoresis), ultrasound, and therapeutic radiation. This book is intended to be a clinical manual of electrotherapeutic techniques for the physical therapist clinician and the student. The author targets both the physical therapy student and the clinician. This attractive book is well illustrated and contains numerous photographs. Two appendixes address equipment selection and frequently asked questions. The well-known and respected author provides information on equipment selection, treatment planning, and documentation for a wide variety of patient problems and diagnoses. The theoretical aspect of the book, however, often does not provide sufficient information to allow the reader to make independent therapeutic choices. From The Critics
