Though this is probably irrelevant to most buyers because they did not choose the book, it is a surprisingly readable text. Explains the basics clearly and tersely, yet still provides sufficient digression to make it an enjoyable read (by textbook standards). Of the three principles texts I've read, this one is far and away the most clear and easiest to read and enjoy.
