Meet the Author

Nora M. MacDonald is a professor of textiles, apparel, and merchandising at West Virginia University specializing in apparel design, flat pattern design, fashion illustration, and visual merchandising. She has been active in the International Textile and Apparel Association (ITAA) since the early 1970s, serving in elected and appointed positions on the board, organizing regional and national conferences, and serving on numerous committees. She has been active in the West Virginia Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (WVAFCS), serving as President and chair of numerous committees. Her scholarship efforts include curriculum development and clothing for older persons and people with special needs. This interest led to her role as chair of the ITAA/Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association (SGMA)/United Nations 1999 UN International Year of Older Persons Symposium in New York City.
