Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Allison Fetters
Little did Hal Jordan, a brave superhero called The Green Lantern, know that his ring was capable of harboring an evil villain. Much to his surprise this is exactly what happens when prison escapee, Myrwhydden, from the prison Oa is looking for a place to hide. In order to take care of this problem, Hal Jordan must actually pay a visit into the ring—requiring a shrinking trick of his own—to fight the sorcerer and restore his ring to its former glory. Failure to do so will mean Hal Jordan will be powerless against those he has sworn to protect. The pressure mounts as Hal works relentlessly until he accomplishes his task. The glossary is succinct and informative as it provides clear definitions for new words presented in the text. The illustrations throughout are artistically displayed contributing to the overall artistic and entertaining quality of the text. The supplemental information, such as the discussion questions, writing prompts, and on-line suggestions, provide the reader with additional resources to explore the world of the Green Lanterns in greater detail.
