I thought the main couple of the story, Thierry and Jema, were pretty dull, and though the author attempted to add depth, she sadly failed. Thierry was a creepy stalker, though Viehl attempts to make this seem romantic. Sneeking into Jema's room at night (and he's NEVER MET HER) and touching her while she sleeps isn't romantic... it's creepy in an I'm-a-sex-offender way. I like other characters in this book - the series is good, I like recognizing characters - but this book is the worst in the series. Thankfully, it's a series you don't need to read in order to understand. They all make good stand-alone reads.

If you are a juvenile diabetic, stay away from this one. The author's treatment of diabetes and her portrayal of an intelligent woman who has had the disease since earjy childhood will give you high blood pressure.

I enjoyed reading the story with Jema and Thierry. Sad for Jaus I am glad characters from first book are included. There is still moreto the Darkyn world I wish to know so I will go now to Dark Need. These books should be read in order. I read on Nook HD+, some typos. There are also periods within a sentence. Also the word corner was comer, modern was modem. Those two words along with the ton of extra periods annoyed me. Hope this helps.
