I was very disappointed with this book. The plot is predictable, the characters are underdeveloped, and Patterson tried to write an English mystery in the voice of a very American film noire style. The only reason for reading a James Patterson book is the characters he creates, but even that is missing in this book. I kept reading to the end hoping for something to make it worth the effort, but I was entirely disappointed. I also find Patterson's style of breaking up a story into 2.5-page chapters as annoying as commercial breaks every 5 minutes during a movie. I definitely won't bother reading any other Private books, and probably will not bother with any books by this author.
