Barnes & Noble - Carol Wright
This deluxe collection of Yanni's music, originally released on the Private Music label, is a "must-have" for Yanni lovers -- especially since it offers the first DVD release of the revolutionary YANNI LIVE AT THE ACROPOLIS. But even if you don't have a DVD player yet, sitting cozily with the five CDs is a special treat. While this set does not include every album from "The Private Years," two compilation albums -- IN CELEBRATION OF LIFE and REFLECTIONS OF PASSION -- bring you the best of them. On his early recordings, Yanni primarily plays solo. The music on these albums is often animated and exciting, charged with the rhythms and exotic instrumental flavors of his native Greece. DARE TO DREAM 1992 offers the evocative "Aria" taken from Leo Delibes' opera "Lakmé. On IN MY TIME 1993, Yanni's rhapsodic piano style has a "come-hither" flair that takes you to the edge of a caress; it's like a long walk on the beach, except that you don't get all sandy. But Yanni's talents really blossom on LIVE AT THE ACROPOLIS -- included here on both DVD and CD. Conductor Shardad Rohani fleshes out Yanni's melodies to full symphonic splendor, while top vocalists and instrumentalists amp up the solos.
All Music Guide - Heather Phares
Yanni's The Private Years box set features five of his albums for Private Music -- In My Time, Reflections Of Passion, In Celebration Of Life, Live At The Acropolis and Dare To Dream - as well as the DVD of his concert film Live At The Acropolis. A great gift idea for Yanni fans.

    An Evening To Remember

Yanni is a pianist that plays in a very unique style that is appreciated by everyone! The first time I heard Yanni in concert was 'an evening to remember.' Escape into an enchantment of enjoyable music--a pleasant way to enjoy life.
