As you might expect from the word 'Pro' in the title, this book provides an excellent comprehensive resource for professional web developers. <BR/><BR/>Many of the mashup development environments that have appeared in the last year or two -- like Microsoft Popfly, Yahoo! Pipes, Google Mashup Editor (GME) and Dapper -- are aimed at novices and professionals alike. For keen amateurs, or what we used to call "power users", who want to have a go at mashing up web content, this book might be a little ambitious. It's not a criticism of the book, but an acknowledgement of what I consider to be the target audience. <BR/><BR/>One chapter that I was pleased to see included is the chapter on making YOUR web site mashable. It is all too easy to look at mashup technologies purely from the 'consumer' side of the equation, so this opposite angle is most interesting.

Meet the Author
Raymond Yee is a data architect, consultant, and trainer. He is currently a lecturer at the School of Informationof theUniversity of California atBerkeley, where he teaches the course "Mixing and Remixing Information". While earning a Ph.D. in biophysics, he taught computer science, philosophy, and personal development to K-11 students in the Academic Talent Development Program on the Berkeley campus. He is the primary architect of the Scholar's Box, software that enables users to gather digital content from multiple sources to create personal collections that can be shared with others. As a software architect and developer, he focuses on developing software to support learning, teaching, scholarship, and research.
Raymond is an erstwhile tubaist, admirer of J. S. Bach, Presbyterian elder, aspiring essayist, son of industrious Chinese-Canadian restaurateurs, and devoted husband of the incomparable Laura.
