Overview

The essential text for all who prescribe or monitor the effects of drug therapy on the fetus, neonate, infant, child, or adolescent. The fourth edition has been extensively updated and includes two new chapters on pediatric pharmacogenetics and pediatric chemotherapy. Numerous tables, figures, and graphs foster quick consultation, and the book's appendices contain Abbreviations and symbols, and Normal Pediatric Laboratory Values.

First published in 1979, this is an essential text for all who prescribe or monitor the effects of drug therapy on the fetus, neonate, infant, child, or adolescent. The previous edition, published in 1995, won an American Journal of Nursing Book of the Year Award in the category of pediatric nursing. The new, thoroughly referenced edition is an extensive update of the 12 chapters of the third edition, and a chapter is added on pediatric pharmacogenetics and pediatric chemotherapy. The editors, who have published collaboratively and individually several hundred professional and research articles plus several books, retained a multidisciplinary Pediatric Advisory Committee to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and comprehensiveness.
