A powerful international organization wants to tip the balance of global power by infiltrating the White House. At the direction of its mastermind, alias Pecos Bill, presidential candidates have become unwitting targets of a world-class sharpshooter.
A martial arts expert, a greedy corporate attorney, and a self-proclaimed conspiracy theorist form a shaky alliance initially intent on solving a missing persons case, only to get caught up in a bigger political plot in which they must uncover the assassin’s identity before he can claim his next victim. Together, they race across the country, desperately trying to piece together an intricate puzzle of murder, deception, and betrayal through a mire of passion, behind-the-scenes deals, and false identities. Along the way, they encounter corrupt government agents, Secret Service cover-ups, and a high-speed car chase.
Only as bodies begin to pile up do the protagonists realize that the killer may be in their very midst, and that they must dig into each other’s pasts to stop the deadly chain of events that has them in its crosshairs. Process of Elimination tells a story of two brothers out to rescue a missing prostitute. They inadvertently stumble onto a map showing the locations of planned assassinations of presidential candidates. As they race around the country trying to prevent the murders, they begin to realize that they have become hopelessly embroiled in a complex plot filled with murder, sex, and deception. There are also some interesting flashbacks to Japan where the main character studied Judo. Very cool book! Smart and fun.
Process of Elimination is by far the best martial arts fiction that I've read, and that includes Donohue, Eisler, Lustbader. If you want to read a fast-paced story with cool characters and realistic martial arts, you'll love this book!
In this story, Adam Reece, a private investigator and martial arts expert is called into find a missing girl. But he quickly discovers that her disappearance is tied to a deadly high profile killer, code name Bulls-eye. Absolutely riveting... well written, great dialogue, and superp action. A must read for this genre!
In Process of Elimination, two brothers chase after a world-class sniper who is killing presidential candidates. One brother, Adam, is a martial arts expert trained in both Kenpo Karate and Judo. The other brother is a smart selfish weakling, and the tension between the two helps keeps things interesting. The fight scenes are well executed, and it's clear that the author has experience both with firearms and martial arts. The cool thing about this book is that moves fast. There's not slowdown from start to finish. There are also a couple of well executed suprises. This is the most enjoyable read I've had in years. I'm already passing it to my friends.
Process of Elimination is a unique novel. The closest book I can compare it to is Lustbader's original Ninja book - since both have a stimulating mix of violence and sex. This novel however breaks with traditional martial arts novels by focusing more on creating an intelligent mainstream story, but without sacrificing the high octane action this genre demands. Story Setup: A rich attorney recruits his estranged brother to help find a missing lover - a girl who traded her body for a comfortable lifestyle. With the discovery of a gruesome clue and the subsequent confrontation by a team of aggressive government operatives, they quickly discover that her disappearance is far more complicated than a scorned lover. Following a hunch from the missing girl's sister, the two uncover a ruthless plot in which presidential candidates are being murdered. As bodies begin to pile up, the protagonists race to catch a world-class sniper and the mastermind behind the nefarious agenda. Major Characters: Adam - a street-smart private investigator who studied Judo in Japan and lives to right the world's wrongs Elliot - an attorney who seems most interested in pursuing money, sex, and political power Lara - the missing girl's sister, an admitted conspiracy theorist in the process of discovering her softer side Matsumoto - Adam's Judo teacher, an interesting blend between a very real man and a teacher with a nearly mystical awareness of the universe 'Lucky Joe' - the vice-president of the US, rumored to have ties to the mob Bob Sharp - a boisterous conservative radio talk-show host that reminded me of Rush Limbaugh Senator Shoemaker - a good politician, if there is such a thing Favorite scenes: - The verbal judo match between Adam and radio personality Bob Sharp - Adam's flashbacks to his study in Japan - The control room shootout involving Adam, the assassin, and a mob of ruthless 'terrorists' Summary: Process of Elimination is a fun yet noticeably smart book. If you like martial arts novels (e.g. the works of Eisler, Donohue, Lustbader, etc.), you'll enjoy this one too. Bradley brings a fresh mainstream perspective to the martial arts genre. Highly recommended!
