Overview

Identical twins Phylicia and Phoebe share a love for the same man. Reverend Gary Morgan, pastor of Freedom Inspiration, only has eyes for one twin, his high school sweetheart, Phylicia. She is the virtuous woman a minister needs by his side. But none of that stops Phoebe from masquerading as Phylicia and seducing Gary.

When he realizes his mistake, Gary informs Phoebe he will never love her. He marries Phylicia. Brokenhearted, Phoebe tries to live her life without him, but her jealousy consumes her, and she feels she has no choice but to leave town.

Twelve years later, Phoebe has returned to their hometown to be with their mother on her deathbed. She brings with her a big surprise: a daughter she conceived with Gary.

While Phylicia accepts the daughter into her home out of duty, her struggle to deal with the past builds a wall that blocks Gary from her heart.?Phoebe, however, is filled with glee as she settles into life in her hometown.?She happily observes as her sister's holy matrimony crumbles into a hurtful melodrama.

Will God's love bring this family together before any more hearts are broken?

A great story with lots of twists....

Zaria Garrison is off and running with this tale of unrequited love with a serious twist - Two sisters...one man....not only are they sisters, but TWIN sisters who are so identical that a husband cannot tell them apart. This story takes the theme of jealousy and envy to epic proportions. Throw in a unknown secret and you have the makings of a great story with lots of twists and turns. Just when you think things are going one way, Ms. Garrison takes you somewhere else and it's totally unexpected.

This is the first time I've ever read an Urban Christian fictional story and I am glad to say that I found it to be a refreshing read.

Zaria Garrison is a writer on the move and I'm looking forward to seeing what she shares with us next!

A New Twist On An Old Story...

Zaria Garrison takes the story of the Prodigal Son and gives it a new twist by making the main characters identical twin sisters.

They look so much alike that one momentary indiscretion has the potential to cause upheavel in the lives of everyone.

I was struck by the sincerity of the characters and the real relationship exhibited between the main characters. For those of us who have sisters we will definitely be able to identify with the ups and downs of that relationship.

The thing I truly liked was that just when you thought you knew where things were going - you didn't.

This is a perfect book for a rainy day and it would make an excellent book club selection.

I highly recommend Prodigal and this is an author worth watching.

    A Family in turmoil

Phylicia and Phoebe are identical twins who have eyes for the same man. When Reverend Gary Morgan falls in love with and marries Phylicia, her conniving sister cuts all ties with her family and leaves town.

Twelve years later their mother falls gravely ill and the sisters come face to face again.

Prodigal, which is based on the biblical story The Prodigal Son, explores sibling rivalry at the highest level. This book is Christian fiction at it's finest.

Zaria Garrison does a wonderful job of drawing the reader into her story, without losing us with the twists and turns. From the first page the author peaks our interest and then holds it for the entirety of the book.

EKG Literary magazine highly recommends Prodigal for any book club wanting to read an exciting novel with a Christian message that teaches us there is no scandal, obstacle, or hurt that the Lord can't pull us through.
