    Good but not great

I was required to by this book for a VB course im taking at a community college. This book seemed to be enough until I got to chapter 8 (arrays), the book totally lost me and now im planning to buy a couple more books by more popular authors. My biggest concern with this book is how often it contradicts itself and may not always be giving the reader the best way to go about a situation. Whats good about it? Your purchasing the working edition of VB 6.0 on CD-ROM. And there is at least one coding example per chapter and every now and then the book tests what the reader with example questions. I would not recommend this book to others learning VB for Database administration.

Excellent book for learning VB 6

This book is excellent for learning or reviewing the basics of VB 6. I was told by a good friend of mine that this book was a great way to learn VB from the ground up and I have to agree that it is terrific.

Best Book For Beginners in VB

This is one of the best book that teach you how to program in VB even if you do not have any background in programing. As for new programers and who wants to learn the most widely used programing language then go for this book. Ofcourse this is microsoft stuff!!

    Pretty Good

It is a very helpful begginners book. If you do not know programming basics, then this bookwill help. If you do, then you can fly right through the first 8 chapters or 300 pages.

    not bad

I'm using this book for a course I'm taking, it may be a little slow for someone with experience in java or c++, but it would be awesome for a beginner. Try 'Teach Yourself VB in 10 min' if you're comfortable with OO and logic.
