Todd Phillips' comedy Project X revolves around a teenager who hopes to gain popularity by throwing the ultimate house party, so it's fitting that the soundtrack would be a hype party mix, designed with big beats in mind. The album has a couple club pop singles (courtesy of Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Far East Movement, A-Trak, and Shiny Toy Guns), but the main focus is rap. Newer songs by Pusha T and MGK and numbers from the mid-2000s by Pusha T, J-Kwon, and Kid Cudi bump up well with hip-hop classics like AMG's "Bitch Betta Have My Money" and Dr. Dre's "The Next Episode."
