"We need to talk. And you are not going to hang up on me this time, honey."

"Don't come any closer," she croaked, worried about her state of mind. If he got too close, she wasn't sure if she would be able to resist him.

"Can't do that." He grinned, his eyes glittering with sinful promises. "We're playing by my rules now and I want to make a few things clear to you."

"What?" she asked, retreating into the dining room. He had determination in his gaze, making Emily's skin tingle with fearful anticipation.

"First of all, you can't get rid of me that easily," he purred, following her. "I think you know me better than that. Secondly, I think your kids are wonderful, beautiful children. They are angels. I'd be a fool not to see that. And third--" He grinned as he pounced on her, pulling her roughly against his chest. "I want you, Emily Parker. Something fierce. So what are we going to do about it?"

Looking into his scorching blue eyes, Emily's head spun. She couldn't think with his aftershave filling her senses. "You ... you shouldn't be here," she whispered.

"I probably shouldn't. But you're the one who hung up on me, sweetheart, and I'm going to make you regret that. Most dearly."

Without another word, his lips swooped down to hers, burning her with his intensity. He didn't ask for permission, he simply took what he wanted, forcing her mouth open and plunging his tongue deeply into her mouth. It wasn't punishing, but rather passionate, as he kissed her again and again, demanding her surrender.

Despite her better judgment, she wrapped her arms around him and gave in. There was no way she could fight him, and at this point, she didn't want to.She wanted him to continue, before either one of them came to their senses.

Leaving her mouth to trail kisses down her neck, he murmured, "I'm going to make you confess you want me too, sweetheart."

"David!" She gasped as he sucked on her skin, his mouth a raging inferno. "Oh God! We can't, we shouldn't--"

"I'm only going to ask you this once," he whispered, interrupting her. "Do you want me here on the floor or upstairs in your bed?"
