3.75 stars A great collection of stories!
In Promises in Every Star Todd Gregory provides us with 19 short stories. I enjoyed how the stories differed from each other allowing me to experience the range of Todd Gregory's writing. From teenagers to men in their late 4os, the stories were a mixed bag of funny, sweet and a bit disturbing, but always erotic with the sexy factor ranging from nuclear-hot, to sizzling to mild.

I found that most of the characters in these stories fought real problems and concerns. For me the underlying message of all the stories is the characters' search for that elusive connection. Some were looking to feel something different that what they experienced in everyday life, others just wanted to feel something again, a few just wanted to get laid and a couple were just sick, but I think each one of them just wanted to connect - to a porn star, an angel or themselves.
I laughed and grinned my way through "All The World's a Stage" and "Wrought Iron Lace", had a good cry with "Unsent" and "Angels Don't Fall in Love", felt a little bit creeped out with "Man in Speedo" and "The Porn King and I" and was exasperated with "Desire Under the Blankets" and "Will You Love Me in September".
All in all I enjoyed this anthology and the different stories it has, but I especially enjoyed the diversity of the characters and the quality and range of Todd Gregory's writing.
