It should have been a wonderful time in Anna Kenner's life. Her best friend was marrying the man of her dreams and had asked her to be her maid of honor. If it had been any other friend, she would have been there in a heartbeat.

But there was no way she was going to spend even a fraction of a second in the same room with Remy McMahon. Not in this lifetime.

Remy wasn't about to let what had happened between them ruin his sister's big day. He'd make sure that Miss Anna was at the wedding - and whether she walked down the aisle with a sore bottom or not was up to her.

Meet the Author

The words "spanking" and "discipline" have always sent a shiver up Carolyn Faulkner's spine.

She knows she's not alone.

Writing started as a way to explore her feelings. Soon short stories flowed from her pen featuring reluctant heroes taking the leading lady in hand, but always for her own good.

Today Carolyn is the author of dozens of books. She writes from her home in Maine, where she lives with her husband and leading man.

105 pages of a HUGE disappointment

Composition and theme sound like something a high school student would write. My reading preferences run the gamut of genres but this is one author I will not be re-visiting. Perhaps the author should read some books by Cherise Sinclair, Kristin Ashley or Jamie Begley then begin again.

Annalise has been running from Remy for the last seven years. He had done something unforgivable and Anna left Texas and ran as far as she could from him and still stay in the states, Maine. But, Remy’s little sister and Anna’s best friend, Libby is engaged to be married and she want Anna to come for the wedding. In fact, she wants her to come down and spend the summer before the wedding. Anna just can’t do it. She wants nothing to do with Remy. Remy decides that he is going to Maine to get her. He doesn’t tell her he is coming and Anna is pretty surprised when he shows up. But, she agrees and they start the long car trip to Texas. Along the way, there is a lot of talking and a lot of spanking. And, as with every Carolyn Faulkner book, there is a HEA. I really liked this story. There are lots of spankings and a very dominant man. Also, Anna is not a wimp. She is a strong woman who happens to be submissive. And, she loves Remy even though he was an ass. I highly recommend this book as I do all Carolyn Faulkner’s books.

This is a great story that is at first about Libby and Anna. Libby is getting married and wants Anna to be her matron of honor. The conflict is that Anna moved from Texas to Maine to get away from Libby's brother, Remy and has no intention of ever being anywhere near him again. He broke her heart, though we don't get the details until the end. Remy can't stand to see his sister cry so he sets out to bring Anna back. Remy is a good man who made a big mistake; I liked that he could admit to that. Anna has fought hard to put her self back together. She believes Remy coming back into her life is detrimental to her healing (or at least her bottom). Remy has no intention of letting her continue to be her own worst enemy and every intention of taking care of her for the rest of their lives.

This book is a great example of what a domestic discipline story should be. I really enjoyed how the layers of Anna and Remy's relationship are shown while we also get glimpses of their past that lead them to where they are today. Plus the chemistry between them is amazing, and the spankings are done in just the right way so that they just add to the heat even when they're for discipline. I really enjoyed this book, however if you're a fan of Ms Faulkner's be warned that this is definitely on her milder end but still a book I would highly recommend.

This is a good story about second chances and redemption. When Anna is asked to be the maid of honor at her best friend's wedding, she desperately wants to say no. She left Texas six years earlier, swearing she would never again step foot in that state. Libby won't take no for an answer. She knows that something happened between her best friend and her brother, Remy, but doesn't know the details. Hating to see his sister upset, Remy, drives to Maine and tells Anna she will come back to Texas with him or else. Anna knows her feelings have not changed, she still loves him dearly. Remy discovers that, in order to gain her forgiveness and love, he will have to come clean about exactly why he pushed her away all those years ago. Ms. Faulkner is very good at creating characters you fall in love with and really care about. Her men are all strong alpha males but also have a heart. I really enjoyed the story and was hoping for a double wedding at the end!

    The power of a promise...
Carolyn Falkner has a way of weaving a story with domestic discipline and steaming sex which is amazing! Promises Kept is the story of Anna and Remy, a couple who suffers from extreme miscommunication issues. Anna is reluctant to come to her best friend's wedding because she knows she'll run into Remy-the guy who tore her heart out 6 years earlier. She still mourns the loss of their relationship and hasn't moved on. But, neither has Remy and when he hears that Anna won't come to the wedding because of him, he knows he must finally confront the situation and make it right. The story is told partially in flashbacks. I liked this because it gave the story more depth, rather than the characters telling the tale in the present tense. Anna and Remy were believable and you felt for both of them. Aside from the ending being a bit hurried, I enjoyed this story very much.

This story really does grab you right away! I really felt for both main characters. The back story to why this couple broke up takes a while to come out and it keeps you turning those pages to find out! I couldn't wait to see how it was going to turn out. I did feel that sometimes Remy goes a bit too alpha male with some spankings, but...a great read just the same!!
