More About This Book

Overview

After the nuclear winter, the taint of humanity worsened in the raw blood-quest for survival. Hunger for jack and power now fuels traders and barons, who relinquish authority only through death, crushing everything in their path. Still, a handful seek a better way of life, where iron fists and ordnance are replaced by harmony, justice and fair trade.

Separated by fate and a freak storm in the shifting landscape of the Great Plains, the companions find themselves on a path of strange prophecy. Here, Native American tribes embrace a peaceful, sacred way of life the travelers have only imagined. Still, Deathlands is a place with no reverence for ease or peace; the land was once the clandestine sanctuary of preDark science. Are Ryan Cawdor and his warrior survivalists destined to fulfill a vision-quest foretold by the shamans…or take a final, fatal plunge into the grim reality of a shattered world?

    SKYLER

*she sits on a chair in an empty room. The lights r turned off. In an instant her head shot up and her eyes glow a forest green. Her bottom jaw drops open as dark green smoke pushes out of her mouth and curls around her feet. She says in a deep voice* one shall win, one shall lie. Who will hear a lovers cry? If u dare be the host. Suffer the curse of medusa's ghost!!!! *the green in her eyes fades back to hazel as she faints*

    more from this reviewer

Doesn't measure up to the rest of the series.

This book lacks the action and violence that has been a main staple for the series. The plot in this one leans towards mystical/spiritual prophecy. It just didn't work for me. Hopefully they bring a new character or two and freshen things up some. I'd like to see a quest to locate Ryan's son or maybe revisit Front Royal. I think maybe they have too many different writers working on the series and they don't appear to be in sync with one another.
