Overview

Starry-eyed young entrepreneurs often ask me, "What's the formula for success?" After they hear whom I 've worked for and the companies I've developed, they want the holy grail business-extraordinary financial wealth. Each walks away dejected when I frankly admit, "There no formula."

As a boy, I made a misguided vow that propelled me into becoming an "ice man" in the corporate world, a man who didn't care for anything but his own advancement. I was a high level executive at ...

I was a high level executive at General Mills, Pepsi Co, Frito Lay TacoBell, and Disney. I helped build a company worth billions(MFS), and was a founder of another (Level 3 Communications) worth over 100 billion. In fact, the Internet largely sits on that company's infrastructure. But at the height of my career, tragedy struck...and a terrible, wonderful decision had to be made.

If you want to understand the underlying values of success, my journey will assist you. If you have been debilitated by pain, my story will bring comfort. If you are an executive that thrives on business but are thirsting for more, this book may be your story as well. I can't give you the formula for success, but I can show you how to live a life of relentless purpose. .. which may or may not include profound wealth.

This is an amazing book. It is the heart-felt story of a man’s inner and outer journey on a quest for what we all want in life: significance and meaning. Author Mike Frank made a boyhood vow that propelled him into the high-flying corporate world. This world measured a man by his financial and material success. His nickname was ‘Iceman,’ which should have warned him about what he was becoming. He rapidly became a top executive at General Mills, Pepsi Co, Frito Lay Taco Bell, and Disney. He helped build a company worth billions (MFS), and was a founder of another (Level 3 Communications) worth over 100 billion. He continued to be blessed by life’s riches, with a lovely wife and four children, and still things were going great. The ladder skywards was never-ending; the rewards were abundant, until tragedy struck and reality bit him hard. Suddenly the money and status became meaningless. It could not fill the empty hole in his soul.

From that time, Mike Frank began an inner journey, and turned his back on the outer trappings. Family tragedy, a heart-rending trip to war-torn Sierra Leone to ‘give back’ some of his material fortune in life, and concerted efforts to rebuild his relationship with his children turned the author’s life around. In a story told simply and humbly, but with compelling honesty, the author has looked inside himself and found what everyone needs to learn in life: there is no success without significance and wealth is a by-product, not a goal. This story is easily relevant to most people’s lives. We all ask ourselves why we are here, what we are doing and what our purpose in life is. The answers are small, not earth shattering, and we all know the truth just by looking inside. At the end of each chapter, the author has included ‘reality check’ questions, encouraging the readers to think about their own lives and what is most meaningful. This spiritual, mental, and emotional journey will resonate with readers. I highly recommend reading this book for a reality check on life. In the author’s own words, “I can’t give you the formula for success, but I can show you how to live a life of relentless purpose . . . which may or may not include profound wealth.”

    Highly Recommend..it's life changer!

I could not put it down. My wife and I picked it up, and read it in a night. Awakens one heart to see inside a man, a leader, a husband, who became broken before God, and surrendered. One life, Lexie's, touched, changed, and melted everyone's heart who knew this little girl. God does not waste pain, but uses our pain and suffering for God's Glory.

    Read it! Loved it!

I read Mike Frank's book in one day! I couldn't put it down. Mike chronicles his rise to the pinnacle of corporate success and his journey through the "valley of the shadow" with his daughter and family. He shares open and honestly about his victories and defeats over the years. This is a must-read for all fathers and those in the busy and demanding corporate world. Enjoy!

    Not your typical "Prosperity" book

This book rocked me. It's a story more than anything. This story is about a man who had everything in the world's eyes (great physical wealth) but through some intense life circumstances found much deeper meaning, purpose, and significance--he found a glimpse of what true wealth is all about. I loved it!!

    A Must Read

Mike Frank’s book, Prosperity with Purpose, is the absorbing and poignant tale of one man’s journey up the corporate ladder of success and through the valley of personal tragedy. He tackled his pain head on, and in the process emerged a new man. His story will aid and comfort those in the midst of trauma, and is a must read for those who want to understand the true meaning of prosperity. I highly recommend that you start your own journey with Mike on his quest for significance and discover what being successful really means.
