Overview

Winner of BEST BOOK OF THE YEAR from COVR (The Coalition of Visionary Resources), that recognizes the best new products in the New Age industry.

In The Prosperous Heart, the author of the international bestseller The Artist’s Way, Julia Cameron, presents a 12-week program for using practical financial tools—in partnership with your creative heart and soul—to guide you to prosperity in all areas of your life. According to Cameron, true prosperity has very little to do with the amount of money we have in the bank. Rather, it is about possessing a prosperous heart and the ability that affords us to see clearly—and appreciate—the aspects of our lives that are truly valuable. With inspiring daily tools, exercises, and strategies, this book guides readers in developing a life that is full, satisfying, and secure—both fiscally and spiritually.

Drawing on her decades of experience as an expert on the creative process working with artists, Cameron shines a clear light on the path to forging a healthy relationship with money together with a rich creative life. In this wise book, she gives readers the courage and permission to live their lives as they create their art: with purpose, freedom, and inspiration.

Praise for The Prosperous Heart:

"Cameron (The Artist's Way) has written a book addressed to our times, offering advice on how to begin to fulfill one's dreams in times of recession or austerity.”
Library Journal

"Many artistic and imaginative souls are troubled and often blocked by money worries. They are unsure about the future and afraid to take risks since they have no Plan B to put into action. In response to this grave situation, Cameron speaks to the darkness and the dread in creative people's hearts with an alternative: the prosperous heart which recognizes "a spiritual bottom line, not a fiscal one. Our faith, not our cash flow, is what brings to our lives comfort and ease….The book is chock-full of other down-to-earth material such as myths about money, trusting that we live in a benevolent universe and that things will turn out okay, clearing clutter away, finding community, and taking to heart the spiritual virtues and practices of forgiveness, kindness, generosity, and perseverance.”

Spirituality & Practice
"From content to presentation, Cameron shines…How we handle our money and lifestyles, and ultimately our very sense of happiness, is based on how we handle our self-image, emotions and beliefs. Trust, kindness, community, forgiveness (including for ourselves!) generosity – and a plan to help us balance all of this - is ours to study and live, in The Prosperous Heart.”

Editorial Reviews

Library Journal
Cameron (The Artist's Way) has written a book addressed to our times, offering advice on how to begin to fulfill one's dreams in times of recession or austerity. As much workbook as essay (thus potentially problematic for libraries), Cameron's book is filled with encouraging phrases, "checkins," lists to read, and lists to complete. Surprisingly spare of illustration—given Cameron's reputation as an artist—this book emphasizes her work as motivator and writer and urges us all to believe that a generous universe will eventually reward our disciplined efforts to live both within our means and closer to our goals. VERDICT While this book is unlikely to find the wide international audience of her Artist's Way, it should appeal to many creative spirits seeking guidance.

Just go ahead and buy it right now!

Everything Julia Cameron writes is worth owning and absorbing - so just save your mental decision making energy, purchase this book first and then figure out later what delicious adventure she is actually going to take you on this time. Though we have never met in person, Julia has traveled all around the literal physical world with me -- in hardcopy, no less as I have to be able to "touch the page" with her writings -- and around and around my inner world with me day in and day out, making me a better writer, thinker and person. "Creating a Life of 'Enough' " is a topic precisely in sync with my current status -- and, hard to imagine though it may be, could be her most important dialogue with me yet!
