This is Vincent and Jordan’s story.
Vincent was in the navy prior to joining Red Stone Security and back in California he was dating Jordan and
after only 4 months of dating he knew he was falling hard for her.
There was some random fires and women going missing and one night when Jordan was about to head
home she spotted what looked like a friend who ran a boutique being dragged by a man in all black clothing.
Well many things transpired and Jordan finds herself not going home to Vincent.
7 years forward..
Vincent is in shock at the woman who is sitting her car out front of his home in Miami.
It’s none other than Jordan the woman who broke his freaking heart.
Jordan has come to ask for forgiveness and explain where she had been but
What she thought was left in her past has now found its way into her future.
Vincent although very angry has no intentions of letting Jordan out of his sight again.
So much transpires in this book. I love all the action and twists and turns the author puts into her books. And
the romance is off the HOT charts.
Loved this book and this entire series so far.
Highly recommend it !

I really enjoy the Red Stone people. It seems that in this book, if you don’t really have much to say, you fill in with a lot of sex. Halfway through the book, the plot started to come together.
This would have been a better short story than a full length book.

I know why the book was only $2.99. Too much "romance" way too soon. The hero is too controlling and she too meek. I am just over halfway through the book and cannot wait for it to end. You truly get what you pay for. I do not recommend this book, although l have enjoyed others in this series.

Jordan walked out of Vincent's life seven years ago. When she reappears again he is determined to never let her go again. However, she is still hunted and he has to try to put an end to her running. Good story that keeps you wanting to read more. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

The writing in Protecting His Witness is so smooth even when there are a lot of details that need to be included such as in the action scenes. I was able to keep up because Katie provides such great descriptions and I actually felt the action and emotions along with the characters. When Katie Reus writes the passionate scenes she knows exactly how much detail to include and how much to leave to the reader's imagination. If you are looking for a romantic suspense book that grips you from the beginning and doesn't let you go until the end, I highly recommend reading Protecting His Witness. Was this review helpful? Vincent..Vincent...Vincent! Oh how I love me some Vincent!
There is no secret that I am a HUGE fan of Katie Reus. One of the many things I love about her writing is that she allows her characters to explore and express deep emotions. She did just that in this story. She made the situation between Jordan and Vincent believable.
I loved how Vincent's emotions were tattered and ripped to the bare bones. He did not easily forgive Jordan and allowed her to see his hurt and anger. Yet, the chemistry between the two was tangible and raw. The relationship was well developed. I could actually see myself reacting the same way if I was in that situation.
There was an instance where I felt Jordan went overboard in thinking that she could save Vincent. I like my heroines to have girl power but there is a fine line between power and TSTL. She came dangerously close to TSTL. I mean it had me crossing my eyes and shaking my head. Thankfully, the author pulled her back before she crossed the line. :)
I was so happy that Vincent finally got his own story and that he lived up to all the hype. This series continues to get better and better.

I don't think I will ever get enough of this series and the characters! I get so excited when I see that there will be a new Red Stone Security book releasing soon and I'm always very impatient to get my hands on it. And they just keep getting better and better! I honestly don't know how Katie does it, but she does and I am SO very thankful! The men in these books are all the macho bada** type, which I love and they have the best taste in women! I think what I love so much about these stories is that they are just so intense, packed with suspense and drama and hot steamy sex. I can't help but fall into them, which is why I always have to devour these books in one sitting, because I just can't stop reading. This one was no different!
Jordan and Vincent met and fell in love with each other 7 years ago but they are torn apart when Jordan just disappears one day. Now, 7 years later, Jordan is back and her reasons for leaving are pretty huge. And though he is angry with her for leaving him, he's not about to let her go again, especially once they discover she's still in danger.
These two characters are among my favorites of Katie's characters and they really took me on an emotional roller coaster with their story. To have loved and lost like Vincent did or worse, to have found love but had to give it up the way Jordan had to, it's such an intense story. Jordan was a great match for Vincent, she took the heat from Vincents anger and then again from his sister and she did it all with her head held high. She knew she messed up but it was what had to be done at the time. And Vincent handled himself very well. Through all of his anger he knew he still loved her so he managed to just push it all aside. It's too often that the hero stays angry for longer than necessary and that wasn't the case with Vincent. Which made me love him even more!
This book was a hit with me (obviously)! I loved getting the glimpses of past characters and hearing a few tiny updates. Now, I am ready for the next Red Stone Security book and I have my hopes for who will be the hero but we will see. My fingers are crossed...and okay my toes are too.
If you have not ready any of these books yet you should go now and add them to your TBR list because they are a must read for romance lovers. I will never get enough of them and I hope she continues to write them forever! ;) Thanks for another great read Katie!

I am truly enjoying this series.
The second chances at love is great.
Jordan suddenly reappears into Vincent's life just as fast as she disappeared out of it.
She took part of him with her when she left. And she left part of her behind. They had unfinished business that needed to be dealt with. When Jordan is facing danger, Vincent has no plans of letting her face it by herself this time.
This story will pull you all different directions. The emotions that are played out make your heart stop, or your stomach drop out. You will hold your breath with anticipation of what will come.
Katie has a way of words that will draw you in and keep you spellbound until the last word.

So this is super late, but I'm leaving a honest review for my ARC. I loved Vincent, so I was super excited to see his story. This was everything I wanted it to be, and more. Suspense with the right amount of stream that keeps you reading. I loved this book, and I keep going back to read it. If you've never read a Red Stone Security book, this is the one to read! Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

This is the first book I have read by Katie Reus but it won't be my last. We have a a band of Security men and separated lovers. This is
a sexy tale of forgiveness and reunited love with some intriguing action adventure thrown in.
I like all the characters here and I am excited to get caught up on the series. I want the Hacker most of all, I think.
While this book stands alone nicely, I am sure if I had read the other books in the series, I would have liked it even more.
As it stands the sex to plot to relationship to action balance was a bit off for me. Each character could have been more developed. For
example, we get a hint of Jordan's background (family/race) but nothing more than that.
I liked it. I am thrilled to have found another new romance writer to me. I recommend looking into this series if you like military/security
Alpha heros and smart women heroines.
I was given this book for my honest review. So, there you have it!

Katie Reus through NetGalley provided me with a copy of this book for my honest review.
3 1/2 stars
Vincent had his heart broken by Jordan and now seven years later she just show up out of nowhere, wanting to apologize, explain things and Vincent is livid. Jordan broke her own heart when she left Vincent to enter witness protection, but she knew it would kill his family to never see him again so she gave him up. Jordan doesn't expect to be forgiven and Vincent doesn't know if he could forgive her, the heat is still there, they go on a date and someone tries to hurt them. Vincent knows he will never let her go, he will he find out who is after her and keep her safe so that he can show she is the only one for him. This book was a fast hot read with a just a little bit of suspense thrown in. There wasn't a lot of time to get to know the two main characters, but what I did see I liked a lot. Jordan was a good woman who made a tough choice; she was heartbroken over it and didn't think that everything was going to be sunshine and rainbows just because she was back. Vincent was a stand-up guy, he really loved Jordan and despite his anger at the way things happened I think he understood why she made those choices. The book was short because it was short the storyline was rushed and the suspense angle didn't get to have that edge of your seat build up. It was a good read the sex scenes were need a cold shower material, the identity of the villain was an interesting twist and the love story was cute. This was the second book in the Red Stone Security Series; I will definitely be picking up the rest of the books in this series.

Without a word she left, just packed up her apartment, no forwarding address, nothing. Until now, seven years later, sitting outside his house in a car. Vincent Hansen can barely contain himself he is that furious. He went nuts right after she disappeared, not knowing what had happened, he wanted some answers......now.
Jordan Alvarado knew she would break his heart when she left, but she had no choice. The alternative would have been much worse in the end. He had just taken an honourable discharge from the navy Seals due to his injuries at that time, working for a security company and he had been so happy to be back with his family. The best she can hope for now, after all these years, is closure to start healing the hole in her chest.
Neither Vincent nor Jordan would ever have thought that their physical proximity would immediately flare up the sparks between them. But before things get out of hand, the air needs to be cleared, something that proves to be difficult for both of them. Over the years, Vincent has made efforts to move on without any success, but Jordan has never even tried.
When Jordan appears to be the target of a series of dangerous attacks, Vincent's protective instincts take over and up he calls in some help from his friends. He is not going to let anything happen to Jordan, nor is he letting her out of his sight. Not this time. She is his, and she had better get used to it.
Fast-paced, high energy, high octane story!
Although this is the seventh book in the Red Sone Security Series, each book is a stand-alone story.
Despite the fact that there wasn't a lot of room for character development, Ms. Reus did great work giving us as much context as possible in relatively few words. Enough to actually be able to establish a connection with each of the main characters.
I loved the connection between them......ultimately. Initially I thought the guilt Jordan would be carrying must be suffocating her, I know it would me. In fact I don't think I could have been as selfless in her shoes at that age. As for Vincent, I don't think anything other than a threat to Jordan's life would have been able to completely eradicate her abandonment of him, despite her intentions at the time.
The book felt like a full story, in spite of its length. That's due, I believe to the great flow and balance of the story. Suspense, action and romance, all well dosed throughout, made it an easy page-turner.
¿A great quick and steamy adrenaline read!!¿

I love the Red Stone Security series! Ms. Reus has a wonderful way of weaving together the perfect amount of suspense, action, danger, and steaminess. I like that it has steamy scenes, but I love that it does not take over the story. The particular style of this series and how good she writes it makes me want to keep going back for more. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
