Meet the Author

Marie-Christine discovered patchwork while living in Berkeley, California in 1976. She went from being an elementary school teacher to focusing exclusively on quilts. She is in charge of organizing all the workshops at Le Rouvray, and is the European liaison for the European Quilt Expo, working for Quilts, Inc. in Houston. Her creations have been juried into major international shows and published in magazines in the U.S., Japan, and New Zealand. Besides being a teacher and a textile artist, she specializes in the history of the famous toile de Jouy. She enjoys cooking and has a special interest in making people happy, whether in front of a quilt or around a table. When she is not touring the world, she lives outside Paris with her husband.

Cosabeth discovered the art of quiltmaking while living in California in the late 1970s. It quickly became her passion and vocation. After returning to France, she joined the team at Le Rouvray, where she worked and taught for twenty years. A contemporary artist known for her work with color and transparency, her involvement in quilting has led her to teaching in France, throughout Europe, and in the U.S. Her quilts have appeared in art quilt expositions all over the world, and she has designed quilts for many prestigious French magazines. The theme of Provence is very dear to Cosabeth's heart because of her family roots there. She spends most of her vacations at the family home in Provence, where she often cooks meals for the numerous members of her family. She lives near Paris with her husband and their two young boys.
