Overview

More than twenty years ago a drunk driver shattered Jack Clayton’s family. Angry, confused and as naïve as any college freshman, he trades his small Midwestern town for another, only to find that it too is too small to contain his dreams. Or is it? Now an instrumental part of the Campus Missions Office and a New York Times Bestselling author, he makes his home in that very college town, where the past and “the one that got away” relentlessly haunt him and the future becomes increasingly uncertain thanks to a big city reporter with a malicious agenda.

Will he have to walk away from the ministry that he spent decades building? Or can he find a way to confront the rumors and set the record straight? In a race against the clock, Jack throws caution to the wind and finds that even he may deserve a second chance.

This is a wonderful book full of the faithfulness of God. I enjoyed reading it, and felt connected to the main character.

This is the 1st book I read by Coppernoll in paperback. His characters drew me in & before I knew it I was emotionally involved. This book held my attention with twists & turns. It is soo much more than the typical "Christian romance" formula book. I am thrilled to have it on my Nook!

Men and women, college age and older, will enjoy this book as it tells of a good girl and a boy from a broken home who wasn't ready to grow up,their college romance, and how God brought them back into each other's lives many years later.

I got this as a free book and really enjoyed it! Just finished it yesterday, and was sorry that it had to end.

This was my first book by the Christian author and it was a good read because the story is so different from the typical Christian stories that are available. I did get a little annoyed with the character going back & forth between past & present throughout the book. I would read another book by this author.

I really enjoyed this book. It was very thought provoking for me. It has made me stop and look at my life. Am I doing what God is asking? Jack showed that  God uses and loves us in our brokenness.

This is an enjoyable book that has (mostly) good religious content. It gives a good account of a life wasted before the lead character is converted. It also shows how God will sometimes lead us through some very uncomfortable circumstances in order to accomplish our good and His glory.

The book allows the reader to see that we all go through trials and tribulations in order for us to grow more and to allow God to move into our lives.
