Provoke [NOOK Book]

Overview

Mace Jordan was not the type of guy I expected to sweep me off my feet. I knew of the crowd he ran with, and they were bad news. But beyond that tough, biker exterior was a sweetheart, and one that treated me like his princess.
I liked being the good girl with the bad boy, but I never expected this. What I saw on his computer…I thought I knew him.

But I was wrong. So wrong…

If there was ever a bad time for me to fall for a chick it was now, but from the moment I saw Leeta, she had me. There was something special about her, and I had to have her. But I also had a job to do, and I couldn’t let her distract me from that. I couldn’t let her discover that side of me either. But she’s not stupid, and I know she’s getting close. God knows what she’ll do if she discovers the truth.

Or what she thinks is the truth.

    Disgusting

    ## REVOLTING. This book was utterly APPALLING.

I can't even believe a woman wrote this!

    *----SPOILER ALERT----*
There is no way and I mean NO WAY a bright, beautiful prosecuter would stay with a man who "rapes" prostitutes.

"It's OK because I pay them. I'm trying to avenge my dead sister. I was thinking about you the whole time I was fu*king them."

Are you freaking kidding me? Then, he kidnaps the heroine, ties her up and gags her and when he finally tells her the following day that she can leave.....yep you guessed it, she has sex with him. UNPROTECTED sex. After doing a bunch of hookers? I'm by no means a prude, but come on, that's just plain disgusting. Is she insane?

This is the worst book I have ever come across and I read a lot. A LOT.

Please, please don't waste your money on this drivel. And even worse than the money, I can never UN-READ this.

I received a copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads, so here is my review. This is a story of a guy from the wrong side of the tracks and a good girl. Mace is trying to not follow in his father and brothers footsteps. Both are in jail and his dad is there for good. He owns his own business working on bikes, something he loves to do. Letta works on the side of the law. Mace has a secret and if Letta finds out will she call the cops or help him? There is a twist to this story that I was not expecting but it was a good surprise.

*** This book contains strong themes that make it suitable for a mature audience only ***

I thought this story was well written and it flowed well and was a intriguing story. Check it out for yourself, not everyone will like it. This is a first for my by Missy Johnson and I loved it.

Excellent read! Great mix sizzling hot and mystery. If this is the beginning of a series, I hope Mace's brother's story comes up next.

Mace Jordan knows what it's like to be on the wrong side of the law. Both his father and brother are in prison, career criminals with little hope of redemption. Leeta comes from an entirely different background. Her family is very traditional, concerned with public perception. Leeta herself is a junior prosecutor for the Department of Public Prosecutions, and is well on her way to securing a place higher up the ladder.

Mace and Leeta met by chance, and, against the odds, have fallen for each other. But Leeta doesn't know the degree to which Mace is driven by his dark past, looking to avenge the death of his sister. Anna was Mace's whole world, and he won't rest until he uncovers the mastermind behind her torture and death.

Even as Mace and Leeta grow closer, events are unfolding that will test the limits of their love for each other, and put them both in the path of a danger darker than either of them could have anticipated.

Missy Johnson has done a great job of taking dark subject matter and making us want to follow Mace and Leeta through every twist and turn. I was on the edge of my seat, waiting to see where the story would go next. I thoroughly enjoyed Missy's unique style, and look forward to reading more of her books.

I totally enjoyed reading Provoke. It has a good story about a bad boy and the lengths he will go to for his family and his woman, and a woman who struggles with the choices her bad boy makes. I would definitely recommend this book.
