Warm, personal guidance from a gifted psychic and teacher

When I was looking for what I needed one day, my psychic sense led me to this book. My analytical side wasn't satisfied until I had compared it with others on the subject, but I came back to this book for its personal stories and practical approach. Sonia Choquette is a professional psychic who has been expanding and refining her own awareness for over 20 years. She's been successfully teaching others for over 15 years how to become more aware of the psychic impressions available to all of us. But the best aspect of this book is the personal tone the author has instilled. There's nothing mystical or pretentious about Sonia, and there's nothing dry or clinical about this book. When I read it, I felt as if Sonia were here herself, telling the engrossing, often amazing stories from her life and the lives of her clients and students, and guiding and encouraging me along my own psychic pathway. She has a gift for clarity, understanding and teaching the essentials without any fluff or bluff. She shows us that the extraordinary is an ordinary part of our everyday world, and seeing the magic simply requires a new and more discerning viewpoint. Whether you want to increase your intuitive skills or are just fascinated by tales of psychics and the supernatural, you're going to love this book. (I first wrote this review for another site in 1997, and it's just as true now as it was then. My personal psychic pathway since that time has been profoundly astounding and life-changing, and I'm thankful to Sonia Choquette for her help and guidance.)

An Incredible Journey Toward Developing Intuition & Psychic Ability

Everyone is psychic. This is the fundamental message of The Psychic Pathway: A Workbook for Reawakening the Voice of Your Soul by Sonia Choquette. As children, our intuition is heightened, undisturbed and uncorrupted by society's teaching us how like "should" be lived. False prophets, dishonest cheats, and scam artists also teach us that those claiming to have highly developed psychic abilities are not what they seem. The Psychic Pathway is a gentle approach to finding your own intuitive voice and learning to trust it.

Designed as a 12-week workshop in book form, The Psychic Pathway begins with a deep analysis of understanding your own beliefs and opinions of the word "psychic," its connotations and conditioned responses. Then, Ms. Choquette moves onto encouraging you to be open-minded in expecting and trusting psychic guidance. Through two tools, meditation and the keeping of a psychic journal, Ms. Choquette helps you to first unblock your internal censor by examining your own religious beliefs, getting organized, forgiving those who have hurt you in the past, and tuning into your own energy and the energy of others. Meditation truly is key to working closely with the tools in this workshop. Those uncomfortable with the concept or feelings of meditation are those who will most benefit from its effects. For those who struggle with meditation, keep practicing. It will get easier, and the results will be profound.

Ms. Choquette takes common words associated with intuition and psychic energy and makes them understandable. Energy and keeping oneself grounded are keys in working with The Psychic Pathway. Ms. Choquette explains the aura and offers sound techniques to both see and cleanse your aura. A most fascinating chapter discusses the various energy sources within the human body, the chakras, how each chakra works, and the type of energy associated with each one. Techniques in this chapter include balancing the chakras, and Ms. Choquette even describes the various types of food to eat or avoid when attempting to regulate the chakras.

In the last third of the book, you are encouraged to really have fun and play with your psychic abilities. Key to the success these techniques is the ongoing theme of playfulness. Per Ms. Choquette, intuition and guidance from the Higher Self is most prevalent when one remains lighthearted and playful. Her "I Am Psychic" game encourages you to spend the entire day in the guise of a psychic character you have created, using your intuition to guide your every move and decision for an entire day. In later chapters, you will learn about your various spiritual guides (angels, runners, helpers, teachers, masters, and joy guides) who, when called upon, can both enhance life and help you through the journey of your soul. Ms. Choquette ends the workshop with an explanation of various tools that can enhance and assist psychic abilities such as pendulums, tarot cards, and runes.

This is truly a profound, life-changing, and miraculously accurate resource for enhancing psychic abilities.

    Help for Understanding Psychic Experiences

This was Choquette's first book and a helpful easy to follow guide to understanding and integrating your sixth sense into your psyche. It is very day to day oriented and not too mystical. Probably because of the 12-week format that takes away the middle ages atttempt at dealing with precognition. My only challenge with this was her notion of the religious block. In her newer book 'Ask Your Guides' she discusses negative entities which are not talked about in detail in The Psychic Pathway. In the spirit world there are both good and bad spirits and by opening the portal through Choquette's teaching of tarot card, tea leaves, pendulums, and other divination systems one has to use discretion. The Psychic Pathway also mentions the Ouiji Board which is a controversal spiritual tool. However, the lessons that are practical and down to earth are really helpful when applied correctly. This is a generally good book but I challenge readers to keep the following in perspective: Sonia Choquette's Ph.D. in metaphysics is from the American Institute of Holistic Theology which is unaccredited. She attended the University of Denver and the Sorbonne in France but from what I gather ... did not receive a certificate or diploma or baccalaureate. In Diary of a Psychic I recall her stating she dropped out of Denver and worked as a flight attendant. She has stated that she studied the Kabbalah when mainstream Judaism does not allow anyone to study it unless they are Jewish, a man, and 40 plus. Sonia once stated in her radio show that another psychic told her she was a rock star on the planet Saturn (I kid you not as God is my witness) either in a co-reality or previous incarnation. In many of her writings she states that one some level you choose everything that happens to you, everything you think of creates your reality, and it begs the question: (1) in one of her books she is quoted as saying that ¿even the people murdered chose that reality¿ yet last I checked capital crimes were to be prosecuted and would she say this or even believe it if the awful fate befall someone she cared about? Would she be so spiritual about it? Would she be so calm and esoteric to say it if it hit close to home? (2) So did she have a thought about attracting in a man who would betray her to be gay on some deep subconscious level just as Henry did to her in Diary of a Psychic or in Heart¿s Desire? Finally, the facts speak for themselves ... she is a graduate of an unaccredited higher educational institution that she is now on the faculty of, claims that Christ taught her to be psychic in her autobiography, says she is Catholic yet practices spiritual methods that the church does not approve of such as divination, and so forth and so on. Though she is a well-meaning lovely lady the facts for any consumer should be taken into account. All that said, Sonia's guidance has turned around the lives of many people, overall she is a sweet wise guide who uplifts many people's vibrations. But as much as I personally adore this writer for her genuine sweet nature ... as a lawyer and Catholic I cannot overlook certain facts. Choquette¿s earlier work was much better until she aligned herself with Hay House (publisher of Sylvia Browne¿s books) and has become more concerned with keeping up her game and being brand consistent in her messages to truly now be of any personal use to those who seek her out. Her beautiful gift of second sight has now dimmed as her business model and personal livelihood is now so tied into having six sensory groupies all over the world in devotion of Sonia¿s saying as their substitute personal religion. The very gift that brought her acclaim when she operated from a sincere spirit of service is now second to Choquette¿s quest to be special and spiritually superior.

    Wonderful Book

I only have time to read at night, so I found myself hurrying around to do all of my work so I could sit and read this book. It is a lovely book full of beautiful thoughts. It really touched me the amount of care and love The auther wrote with. Sonia Choquette approaches the subject of being psychic in a unique and honest way. It is full of beautiful sentiments about our purpose in life, and would be enjoyable to anyone who read it with an open mind and heart. I would recommend this book highly!

    Highly Reommend

Sonia is a high energy credible person and her book allows the reader to be part of that energy. Her psychic abilities began around age twelve, which she continued to follow her path. Eventually she study various religions and metaphysics at the University of Denver and Sorbonne. The book does not focus on a "religion", it does support whatever inner belief you have for your highest and purest intention.
The book is present in a user friendly manner, with supportive guidance every step of the way. The book is more than a self-help or how-to. Sonia writes as if you are her personal student on a twelve week lesson plan.
The book has helped me learn about my psychic abilities and to validate life experiences I have had , but were too shy to ask or tell someone about. This book gives you confidence about yourself and the knowledge to come forward with your abilities to help heal yourself and others.
Sonia has a wonderful website with free videos. Once you get to know Sonia, your life will change for the better. Buy the book and get started on a life changing journey.

Great guide to learning and developing your intuition, although the book is set up as a 12 week workbook, its best to read the book and take from it what you need. Love this author, will look forward to reading other books of hers.

“The Psychic Pathway” by Sonia Choquette provides some innovative tips on strengthening intuitive perception. She covers simple but important ways on being grounded and acknowledges why the term psychic carries with it the stigma that it does. The spiritual tests that a man or woman is going to occur on the path of psychic awakening is also informative. The link between a cultivated use of imagination and psychic ability are also carefully discussed. There is much more great information in this book and “Psychic Pathway” by Sonia Choquette is an important guide for those who enjoy looking for ways to increase their skills of picking up on helpful hunches.
