    Highly Unsatisfied

I ordered this book at the beginning of the month and chose the 4-14 business days shipping rate, it has been over a month and I still have not received it. I contacted the seller and came to the conclusion that my order was lost somewhere in transport. Not only did I never receive my book, but when I contacted customer service about my delayed shipment, they told me to just hold tight and wait for the book to arrive because apparently it was expected to take 4-6 weeks to arrive instead of the original 4-14. I was never notified of this. I would recommend not using Barnes & Noble for ordering books, especially for school, considering how unreliable their shipping process is. I'm not impressed.

    Needed book for Psych class

I was really not looking forward to have to read a Psych book for my class. I was worried it was going to be boring and dry. But it was actually exetremly interesting and not as monotonous as I thought it would be. It gave me relevent insight and gave me examples that I would understand and could relate to!

    The book and Shipping

Each chapter of this book is very very long. It goes into details about the topics it covers. There are many examples given. I would recommend this book to any psy majors starting to go into the field. The shipping of this book was also great. As soon as I ordered it it came like 2-3 days later. Much Much faster than I expected... *Two Thumbs* up.. love Barnes and Noble...

    Outstanding Text

I read the Seventh Edition, and I'm sure it's just as good as the eighth. It's not too much to digest, and with a pleasant blend of humor and 'keeping it real,' the true joys, keys, and important points of Psychology will set any Psych student on the right track.

    A reviewer

I would recommend this book to anyone. I just finished taking AP Psychology and throughout the year I found myself reading the book for fun. It is the most intersting textbook I have ever read and it made me excited about psychology. It has a very easy-to-read layout and is very well written.

    I liked it

I mean, the book, wasn't facts only, or a thrilling novel, but as far as textbooks go I thought it was excellent, I could actually read it, and be interested, have you ever tried to just read a biology textbook . . .

Do not rent from Barnes and Noble!

Rented the book from Barnes and Noble, waited 10 days. Called them and they told me they couldn't understand why it hadn't shipped yet but they would ship it right away. Waited 2 more days, nothing. So I called back and they told me they were out of stock that's why I didn't get my book. Well it would have been nice if someone or somewhere it told me they were out of stock before I even wasted my time. On the website it said they were in stock the entire time. I usually do all my book shopping with BN but not anymore.

    more from this reviewer

    I'm a student in College.

It's a pretty useful textbook. Gives interesting examples to help you remember concepts, however there's TOO MANY examples for some concepts which makes reading longer than it should be. Other than that it's useful because of the terms on the side that make skimming the book a lot easier.
This has helped me get A's on my past two exams so I would recommend purchasing it for your class.

    AP Psych

I'm in AP Psychology in high school. We have book based tests nearly every week. Each chapter is around 40 pages and written in 'easy' language but does not hold my attention very long. 9/11 is mentioned too many times, but there are good comic strips and pictures. If you have to read this book for class, get the study guide book, which I don't have and am looking for right now. A lot of the test questions come from the textbook student website (which is very helpful) and the study guide.

    Very hard to read

I just finished a Psych-100 class that used this text book. I tried reading a chapter before going to bed several times but only made it through 8-10 pages before it put me to sleep. Way to much information that does not relate to the topic being discussed in this book. It was painful reading this book. Find another Psych class that uses a different text

    Very Basic

This text provides a good introduction, but is very simple. It seemed more suited to the highschool rather than college student. Besides being 'basic', it is hard to stay interested in the reading material.

    TOO MUCH EXTRA INFO

I used this book for my psychology class in College. It wasn't that it was hard to read, but there was too much wasted information. I love psychology and this book never really grabbed my attention and kept it. Too much reading per chapter. Find a simpler book then this one.

    AP Psych

I used this book in high school when I was taking AP Psych. It didn't feel like a college text book... It felt more like a dumbed down version of the information. It's funny but c'mon - how often can you use 9/11 as an example?!
