Pudd'nhead Parenting: Forming a POSITIVE Working Relationship with a Child with ADD

Pudd'nhead Parenting is an amazing book! It will help any parent, but especially those with a child with ADD. Pratt's wisdom is so universal that all of us can learn from him. His common sense and positively focused and step by step approach is easy to read and follow.

What I also appreciate is that Pratt has been there. This isn't written by some clinician, but by someone who's lived through the hardships, and come out, not only surviving, but thriving... And he's parented children with ADD, as well. So he know what works and what doesn't. This should be a text book for teachers, and required reading for any parent.

    Highly Recommend this book!

This book is just what I've been looking for! It is very easy to understand and follow. I love how the author puts stories along with the ideas making it easy to relate to my own situations. Very well written with step by step help to get started. I love his suggestions for helping children maintain their self-esteem and how parents can aid in that endeavor.

    A Practical and Reusable Resource

Pudd'nhead Parenting isn't just some doctor's theory about how to "deal with ADD"; it's a guide, a resource to be read again and again, in helping parents and children with ADD not only cope with but be successful in life. Mr. Pratt has drawn from his extensive research and personal experience with ADD in his own life and his children's. He offers practical advice and strategies that are meant to work on a day-to-day basis. He also gives encouragement and support, and hope that life with ADD can still be productive and fulfilling.

    This book is a Masterpiece!

The book is incredible! There is so much wisdom squeezed into every page! It has profoundly impacted me and my family members for the better already! To have some understanding and recognition of symptoms and hope for assistance and growth and improvement is a huge source of relief!!! It is so comforting to be reading material from someone who has been there. It makes such a big difference to converse with someone that has familiarity and experience so that you don’t have to spend all of your time and energy trying to explain yourself. I greatly appreciate the fact that the author explains things to me in layman terms with personal examples and anecdotes that I can understand and to which I can relate. You already did all the hard part by living it and then reflecting on it and pondering on it and then putting your thoughts and discoveries into words that have such truth and testimony and spirit to them. This is not just an academic guide. It is a spiritual guide. This book is a Masterpiece. I am so glad that it is so user friendly. A parent with ADD definitely needs a book that they themselves can understand in order to help both themselves and their child.

A Must-Read for ALL Parents Who Have a Child with ADD/ADHD

I have taught classes for families who are dealing with ADD/AD/HD for many years. I will definitely be adding Pudd'nhead Parenting to my list of highly recommended books.

When our son was diagnosed with ADD in the 3rd Grade, there was very little information available about the condition. As we struggled to find strategies to use, we discovered that we were pretty much on our own.

Since that time much has been written about ADD/ADHD. Excellent academic papers have been presented and national organizations have been organized for parent and teacher education. What has been missing is a practical, hands-on book about dealing with every-day situations between parent and child.

Pudd’nhead Parenting fills this void. Finally, we have a book from an author who has lived an ADD life who now, as a parent, is experiencing life on the other side of the mirror. Sterling B. Pratt’s book entertains, enlightens and, most of all, leads the reader toward strategies that help parents in the most critical area, forming a positive working relationship with a child with ADD/AD/HD.

    Lives Will Be Changed!

This is a brilliant book. Not only is "Puddn'head Parenting" engaging but it's helpful and supportive in ways where many books for parents with children with ADD fail. Sterling's passion for service and helping other translates easily and effectively into this parenting handbook. He is a parent as well as an individual who has fought and succeeded against the ADD diagnosis. Lives will be changed... Bravo Mr. Pratt! Thank you for giving this book to the world. - Jennifer Beichner, JC Beichner Publishing, LLC.
