The Puerto Ricans: A Documentary History based on 0 ratings. 5 reviews.
Even today as the Puerto Rican Community has grown more prosperous, and prominent in todays society it is still subject to many of the same alienations, struggles, and prejudice that it faced during the post colonial occupation of the Americas. Even today it is becoming divided amongst it's own through separation of rich and poor/educated and not/divide and conquer princples. Today technological advances have made the Puerto Ricans of Today Blind to the history that they have acquired. This book helps understand the past, and understand the present. Very important reading not just for the Puerto Rican community but any immigrated community.
I liked how the author told Puerto Rico's history by presenting a series of actual documents from the island's past. After reading this book I have a new found respect for my people and my history. Thank you Kal!
The Best book ever read.
Excellent historical data for anyone curious about Puerto Rican culture. A wealth of information, a must read if you really want to know PR's history.
