A different Vampire series featuring a human girl with vampire-like powers. Did I mention she attracts vampires to her blood so she's always on the run? Kalina is one of the strongest heroines who is able to remain feminine and real as an 18 year old girl I have read in ya books.

I really liked this story (and enjoyed it; I was laughing through all the book). It was new for me to hear about such a thing as "Vampire Wine". A lot more likable than chase a squirrel or a rabid, for instance. First, I must say that this book (YA book) is not written properly. You could see that it's not difficult to read; the author didn't care to elaborate a lot of things as others YA authors did. HOWEVER, I had totally enjoyed "Pulse". I fell in love immediately with Jaegar, it's inevitable not to fell for the dark side, isn't it? She was a magnet for them! She was strong, beautiful, smart, intense... I liked Kalina, hurra for Gow, she made up a powerful character. Stuart was the guy who any story needs: the Yin of the Yang. The hot bad guy, who chase the girl and taunted her with his animal attraction, and the rational guy, who take care of her, protect her, and grew to love her besides of his loyalty intentions to his dead brother's girlfriend. I recommended this, you are not going to regret. I am waiting for the next books, it's a good thing that I don't have to wait so much!

I will read anything from the prolific Kailin Gow in any genres. Now only does she have hundreds of books, but they are addicting. I have spent many nights staying up trying to finish a series. You read one book, you have to read the next. I am not the only lifelong fan. My sister and cousins are all reading her. There's vintage Kailin Gow and then there's her newest releases. You have to read them all!

My book club did a marathon Kailin Gow read this month. She killed it with this book. Not only is she prolific but her books are so good, they win awards. Results speaks and she has them.

I really enjoy this version of a vampire urban love story. Kalina is the only human amongst a group of hot vampire guys, and she can't help being led by her blood towards each.

I really enjoyed this book, it reminded me a bit of the Vampire Diaries, only in the way we have the 2 brothers that are vampires and both interested in a special girl. They do not always get along, one is more gentle and fights his nature, and wishes to be human, the other is loving it, and has no qualms with feeding from humans, (like Damon in Vampire Diaries, lol) anyway, that’s really were the similarities end. It has its own unique story to itself. It is interesting, has some twists that I did not really see coming, at all. And that huge cliffhanger has me scrounging to see if I can actually buy book 2, and know I will want all of them. I did not realize there is so many, book 8 will be out sometime this year (2013) but that’s ok, once I am able to buy them all, I should be able to just buy it as well. This book will really get you hooked for sure, 2 hot boys and a strong heroine, and we have a great story. Anyone who likes books like the early Vampire Diaries, or even the Sookie books (for those adults out there) will like this book. Give it a try. It’s an easy quick read. 5 out of 5 stars. Will leave you with a few favorite scenes below for you. Here is part that I thought was pretty funny when Kalina first found out about vampires, and believed it. Kalina remained paralyzed in her seat. “Oh, crap.Aaron was a vampire.” She straightened up. Remain calm, Kalina. Breathe. “You're not going to eat me, are you?”“No,” said Stuart. “Not all vampires feed on humans. I choose not to. I drink Vampire Wine.”“Vampire Wine.” Kalina put the pieces together. “Jaegar...I thought he was kidding...”“And Aaron drank Vampire Wine, too. To avoid succumbing to temptation. To avoid drinking blood whenever he got too...excited....”Kalina's eyes widened. “So you mean...”“Vampire Wine wasn't the problem, Kalina. It was the only solution.” Here is another funny part “And what if Aaron drank from the unwilling? If he killed men and women – what then?”“I don't know that he did.” Kalina turned to face him. They drove on. “It sounds like he stuck to Vampire Wine. Which is more than I can say for you.”“Listen,” said Jaegar. “You eat your steak. I’ll eat my humans. You don't need to get self-righteous with me. As far as I'm concerned – you're just food.”“I'm food that can talk. And in any case – you don't seem to make up your mind whether you want to sleep with me or have me for dinner.”“Both, really.”

I know that I seem to say the same thing everytime that I review a Kailin book but man can she write, no matter whatever she writes I can never seem to put the book down whenever I pick one up. So this time we have a book about vampires (I love the title), and Kalina a 17 year old girl who's ex-boyfriend Aaron was recently killed, his two brothers Stuart and Jaegar come to town and it's not to long before Kalina ends up in a relationship with Stuart, while also being attracted to Jaegar who is the bad boy of the two. Being vampires and also being centuries old they're bound to end up with an enemy or two and he comes in the form of Octavius , he is here to capture Kalina who is found to have special blood that will break a vampire's curse, and so it's up to the two brothers to make sure that she's safe and doesn't fall into Octavius' hands. And as with all of Kailin's books this one has a killer ending, which as per usual means I need to get my hands on the next book pronto This has become another one of my favourite Kailin series and I highly recommend it.

Kailin pens "Pulse" a paranormal romance for young adults in an easy to follow plot with strong characters. A fast fun read that you will find yourself finishing within one night. Recommended for all YA and not so YA paranormal readers. This review is based on a complimentary copy from the author which was provided for an honest review.

This was a good book! Kalina is mourning her ex-boyfriend's death when she meets his two half brothers. Aaron was a fun loving guy who had a bad habbit of drinking too much, at least that is what Kalina thought and why she broke up with him. Now she finds out he was a vampire and so are his brothers! I liked Kalina. She wasn't the typical 17 year old, but was much more grounded. She was more mature but at the same time, she still enjoyed life. Stuart was such a noble guy but still a vampire. Jaegar was a bit hard to stomach sometimes but for the most part I still liked him. I rate this a 5/5 and can't wait to read more about these wonderful characters. Thank you to the author for the review copy of this book. I received this book in exchange for an honest review and the opinions stated above are 100% mine.

"The worst pickup line of all time. Hi, I'm Stuart. Go out with me see-I can fly? What's next, you'll start sparkling in front of her?" LOL I really enjoyed this Vampire/Human book. Kalina is one heck of a feisty 17 year old. Having just lost her boyfriend then to have both his half brothers pop up...wow talk about drama! Not to mention they're vampires...or that she's special. I have to say my fave is Jaegar!!! He's blunt and straight-forth!!!! Stuart is cool, but a bit of a stand offish type. I love the steady lead up through out the book....nothing is really fast past...just a steady story of action. I really can't wait for the next book....I mean to leave us trapped in the basement...urgh!!!!!!
