M/A/R/R/S PUMPED UP THE VOLUME IN THE 1980s

I'm 29 years old, and--in 1988--I first heard M/A/R/R/S' only radio hit, PUMP UP THE VOLUME, on the radio. I thought it was . . . AWESOME!!! (Even today, occasionally, I STILL hear M/A/R/R/R/S' only hit on the radio!) Sometime later--I just don't remember exactly how long ago--I picked up M/A/R/R/S' namesake album (which contains four versions of the title song), and thought it, too, was . . . AWESOME!!! (I STILL have a cassette version of M/A/R/R/S' only album!)
