    Punisher Greatness

The Punisher kicks it old school in this 1930s portrayal. Lots of classic Punisher villains and a unique change of story from the original Punisher tale but with the same basis; Punishment. Excellent artwork and decent dialogue makes the Punisher of the 30s not lose a step compared to the Punisher we all know. Favorite Part: No Punisher Skull shirt; this time he dawns the Punisher skull mask. Very cool.

The World of NOIR provides a surprising twist for the story of The Punisher

I debated with myself for quite a while on whether or not to read this book, because I am not the biggest Punisher fan, but I got this anyway and I am glad I did. This book is very good, and it is very entertaining in a sick sort of way. The hardcore Punisher fans are probably going to love this more then I did but I still enjoyed it. The origin of the Punisher has a bit of a twist to fit the 1920's/30's setting but it is still very much a Punisher story and I loved it. It is a bit slow starting but once it gets going it does not stop until it is over. Punisher fans and Marvel Noir fans alike should not miss this story it is that good.

    Back to the good stuff

I thoroughly enjoyed this comic. It's been a long time since I actually sat down to read one. So long in fact that I still call them comics. However, I should clarify, this is a graphic novel in every sense of the word. It gives you a different spin on the Punisher origin with some dark and gritty images. It's good. The Punisher is one of the few characters that I think fit well into any decade. No matter what the year, a bullet still kills. Classic Punisher baddies make a cameo in this along with some new friends. The ending...well let's just say you'll be clamoring for the next issue. If you enjoy the Punisher world & old school noir classics you're in for a treat.
