Overview

Pure Moods was such an unexpected success that it launched a number of spinoffs and, eventually (and perhaps somewhat inevitably), Pure Moods, Vol. 2. Although it isn't quite as consistent as its predecessor -- George Benson's "Breezin'" feels out of place among these atmospheric cuts, although not nearly as much as Massive Attack's menacing "Teardrop" -- but fans of the first will still find it to be quite enjoyable, especially since it features Vangelis' "Chariots of Fire," Loreena McKennitt's "The Mummers' Dance," and the Dream Academy's "Life in a Northern Town," three major oversights not included in the first Pure Moods.

I was very excited when I got this CD recently for Christmas. But I was more surprised that it had such great people on it like Loreena McKennitt and Adiemus III. I truely love it and I am, counting down the days till Pure Moods III comes out! If anyone has any other really good titles, feel free to IM or e-mail me.

this is the best cd ive heard in a long time that is instrumental. mummer's dance is the best. i can feel it. the best way to understand it is to listen to it.

Anyone who's a PureMoods fan (such as myself) would know what I'm talking about!! Now some of you people may not like it at first...just as I did...but TAKE THE TIME TO LISTEN TO IT AWHILE! It'll work it's magic on you too, that is if you give it a chance.

I originally discovered the “Pure Moods Vol. II” cd in the early 2000’s at a music store in Hong Kong. I am fortunate to have purchased a replacement copy in 2011 for only four dollars and twenty five cents. “The Mummer’s Dance” by Loreena McKennitt, ”Life In A Northern Town” by Dream Academy, “Euphora” (Firefly) by Delerium, “Teardrop” (Edit) by Massive Attack, “Beyond The Invisible” by Enigma, and “The Mystic’s Dream” by Loreena McKennitt are some of the multiple pleasant songs available on this cd. “Pure Moods Vol. II” is a compilation for those who like hybrids of new age and chillout music from various artists.
